Hi Erin, thank you so much for this video. May I ask, as an Executive VA or Administrative VA which one do we need, a portfolio or a resume? Is there any portfolio sample for this field you can show us?

Technically, you NEED neither. In rare cases, clients may want to see your resume. However, if you're a creative VA doing designs (for example), clients may want to see your work. I recommend creating different designs for fake clients or products. These are called mock ups...they just want to see your design sense!

Thank you for this info! I'm struggling with the experience portion, because I don't necessarily want my VA clients to know about my 9-5, I need those things to stay completely separate. I can put my job title & job duties, but it's not a good idea for me to put where I work specifically. How can I get around that?

Absolutely doable - you can actually make a simple VA resume with NO other work experience. You can simply list all duties and skills under your virtual assistant title and treat previous positions as "specialized" skills.

I'll be real - it will be hard to grab a recruiters attention. Instead, focus on your LinkedIN profile and start meeting people there.

You just raised an excellent point - canvas formatting is generally not readable. I need to update this video asap with ats compliment details - usually a simple .dotx file with size 11 sans serif font

I don't unfortunately, but ChatGPT and Bard can help you write them - if you have access to either tool!

That's ok! MOST people/places will not ask for a resume. Focus your efforts on crafting a really good pitch (ie what services you offer) and practice your interview skills.
