I work one of these vr bars, honestly this shit is hilarious, we dont mind trolls at all, it can be good fun. The reason we do age verification is not cuz of the drinks its cuz theres adult conversations happening inside that we dont want kids overhearing, plus a lot of people prefer hanging out with other 18+ people. And the way we do it, is by listening out for voice, watching mannerisms, checking bios and checking for inconsistences in age and d.o.b. EG: saying "im 18, born 2000"

It's still mega cringe, and also easily bypassed. It does absolutely nothing for bad actors that actually want to to get in. I've been into at least a dozen of these places and given a different age and DOB every time, simply because the answer I want to give is "none of your business" but your egos wont accept that, so I'll just lie to your faces instead and you'll let me in every, single, time. Also, 90% of the conversations in these places are the most boring, monotonous nonsense ever. Sure, it might keep out squeakers and people bad at lying/math, but it wont help you for people like me.
