I suppose the rebalanced MARZ version is one that's needed. It's not supportive of 4-player mode, after all... Or they could clean the slate by explaining that they've found ways to make the V-converters give maximum performance on any planet... yeah, not gonna happen LOL.

If they did, it would be more hectic... though, you could see 2nd gens completely pwning 3rd gens. unless it was on a mars or jupiter zone, then the 2nd gens (other than the Temjins and 10/80s) wouldnt be able to function at all. maybe a re-balanced version of MARZ at least. (with all the VRs from Force)
