DaVinci Resolve is a free programme but don’t let that fool you. Editing, sound special effects, green screen etc.

Thanks for your comments and I totally agree. From what I have seen in my work with young people in the UK (Cardiff), they would probably have an easier time moving to the Capcut desktop software because of its ease of use. So many of them are currently editing in Capcut on their phones. Davinci Resolve is also free, and much more full-featured, but it can be intimidating to novice users when you get into nodes and so on. For my students in California, they would gravitate toward Resolve (hypothetically) because they are immersed in a 6-year program starting in middle school.
