I know game developers are using the unreal engine to do this for creating game spaces. Could be the same engine or similar atleast?

Great Video! We have developed application using HTC vive and it is really a great tool! It is just starting, hope to see more use of VR application in day today life.

hi! is there someone who can give me a tip how I can start with virtual reality work? I am a ´classical´ engineer, electricity and power systems, but I would like to get on the virtual reality train... Thanks
lol, it's the accent, he said architectual, meaning architectural

This design process could become much easier if we stopped using those manipulators. Instead we could use the mind control. There are already systems which can, for example, move objects just scanning your brainwaves. At the beginning you have to calibrate the device, but then it works flawlessly moving objects up or down or sideways in the virtual space. My idea is to use brainwaves and such devices which read the brainwaves, and interpret them as 'flat surface', 'bump', 'hole', 'curved surface.' In this way I would simply look at a work piece and make it change its shape. The reason I'm writing this is because I am tired of wires and even wireless keyboards and mice. Those joysticks could be useful, but imagine how you could just wear some device on your head and shape the objects with the power of thought.

yeah okay bud, look I don't want to be negative but I highly doubt that we have the accuracy to consistently scan brainwaves and interpret those brainwaves as 3d form

Operative34 right, but I meant the future; what we should aim at the future. I am so tired of using fingers! Especially with my keyboard. Some device on my head to read my commands and print them would be better. Ideally, some implants to print without anything attached to my body.

i dream about this about 6 years)))) Desigh, using power of mind - it will very cool)

I started dreaming about a brain-controlled keyboard when I got a wireless keyboard. I had got rid of the wires, but I saw some space for improvement. Actually, if you are a designer or engineer/developer, i have got some ideas.

Way too cumbersome. Better to work quickly the old way and preview it regularly in VR

I agree, but i think this would be cool for on-the-fly client consultations. Once you have the a basic concept already in place, then adjusting positions, materials etc with the client watching as it happens. Perhaps once computers are powerful enough, it could be photorealistic renders in real time - probably still quite a while before that happens though.

You are so right on that. I actually saw a company named A2 VR who is actually making architectural visualizations for architects to showcase their designs to customers. Have a look at their video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnaxhZ1jadGfo6M
