I cnt believe it. 10 years ago I was there. I grew up in Va Bch. I was homeless. I left and came to NY. But I was soooo homesick. The beauty...the stores...the ppl. I've prayed and prayed for God to let me see Va Bch again. And here are the streets I drove my car. Some stores..the ocean. I missed the ocean bad. I'm coming back. NY will never be home.

lived in Virginia Beach from June of 1985 to June of 1988 working as a bricklayer apprentice. Now live in Illinois . Really liked Va. Beach but go to the Outer Banks for vacation. My wife & I have been there 9 times. And my daughter 8 times. Love Hatteras Island. Avon's our favorite! Have stayed in Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Avon, Buxton & Frisco !

I was down there in sept for my birthday one year and at the 2:26 mark there were like 3 nurses from New York drove off the top deck and the car landed upside down needless to say none of them made it and channel 10 news had chopper 10 over head after I saw that my birthday wasn't the same I'll never forget that day......

Was just there last weekend! Ocean Side Inn @ 0:20, on the left. Not the Taj Mahal, but they allow pets, and my hound needed a beach trip! Great balcony view! Best breakfast EVER @ Sunnyside Cafe, just a few blocks north, inland side of Atlantic Ave. Will be back ASAP! Much better atmosphere than Myrtle, by far.....

Are you kidding? Looks "deserted" right?... LOL This place is jampacked in the summer... & looks like fiesta at nights with different bands/entertainment on each block for free! Come & visit, u won't regret it! I've had friends who moved here permanently after I invited them. It's just that cool!

There is no better hotel to stay in like Holiday Inn on 21st , we had a awesome time the food and the weather and all the little things we did. Got up early and watched the sun come up, it’s felt so spiritually , peacefully, loved seeing the dolphins, to start the day. I wish I could be there all the time. God I am so great full to see your awesome work!

I Grew up all up and down the strip there back in the 60s and 70s. There used to be an Amusement park with a old timey arcade. I practically lived on the beach watching the surfers. Even in winter they would come to surf. My Father and mother owned the property that Martina Navratilova now owns. Those were awesome days. I Haven't been back since i joined the Army in '83. Man how things sure have changed. Is there a pizza place called Chicho's still open on Atlantic ave.?

John Dozier It doesn't matter, I just remember my mom and dad were loaded with cash after that and i got a new Schwinn Banana bike for Christmas and a new TV of my own because of her generosity. As i got older i did notice how rude people seemed to get as the Old School residents of the strip died off. I Don't think i could ever go back now. I Love Downeast Maine and my Beachfront home here. Much cheaper and less hectic living. Good luck to you John.

As a former resident of the Hampton Roads, I much rather go to the beaches around Wilmington (NC) including those of the Crystal Coast and Topsail. Unlike Virginia Beach, there is plenty of free parking to be found at those beaches without running the risk of getting a ticket for cruising while trying to find a parking place and there are plenty of public assess points for the public to use without running the risk our getting arrested for trespassing because one mistakenly walked on hotel property. Besides, the water around Wilmington is not only cleaner but far warmer. One could actually enjoy the waters there without having a turd float by ones head or freezing.

thank's for your video, i guess it's in atlantic avenue, it's reminds me a lot, i use to live in the 22th street "mediterranean avenue", from 1989 until 1991, i use to work in a bookstore called "fireside beach books" i really enjoyed the free summer concert and a lot of other things, i was only 18 yrs old, unfortunately, i have been addicted to the crack cocaine, and in the 14th street where it was easy to buy that shit, they use to call me 'puerto rico"

Va Beach has changed quite a bit in the last 12 years. The last reaming hotels/motels are now gone. The Sea gull is gone the Viking is gone the Diplomat is gone the Belvedere is gone the Caviler is gone and I beleive the Neptune Park Inn is now gone as well. Also the Seafood Harbor restaurant is now the Nautilus restaurant.

If anyone wants to know where to stay some awesome choices are Comfort Inn At The Beach on 23rd street, Quality Inn&Suites Oceanfront on 7th street, The Holiday Inn & Suites North on 39th street VERY NICE, The Clarion Hotel on 26th Street, Dolphin Run Condos (At The beginning if the video on 3rd Street), The Beach Quarters oceanfront Resort, or the Springhill Suites oceanfront!! TRUST ME I'VE BEEN GOING HERE AND THESE ARE NICE PLACES!! look them up!!
