7:40 the direction of force as well as displacement will be same.. Then how it can be negative?.

If I am assuming that the piston is moving virtually down, to satisfied the constraints, point at force P is acting will go upward. Means point is moving upward but my force P is acting downward. so the work will be negative. I tried to answer your query, If yet not clear, inform me.

@@ashishpurohit9138 but sir, we have assumed that piston is mass less.. Then how it can come downward automatically... Means in this case we have first applied force P in downward direction after that piston comes down... So force P and application of that point's displacement have same direction.. So it should be positive...
