Step-by-Step Lab Setup
Start with a Physical Server: In a real network, you would begin with a physical server. But for our lab, we'll use a virtual server.
Install VMware Workstation: VMware Workstation is a Type 2 hypervisor that allows us to create virtual servers on our existing hardware. Download and install VMware Workstation on your computer.
Create a Virtual Server: Once VMware Workstation is installed, create a virtual server. This server will act as our physical server in the lab setup.
Install ESXi on the Virtual Server: ESXi is a Type 1 hypervisor that allows you to create and manage virtual machines. Install ESXi on the virtual server you just created.
