The movie Prince Caspian also removes Caspian's Nurse, a removal that I hated most of all. You may say, but the Nurse was such a minor character. I say, yes, exactly, that was Lewis's whole point and reason for including her in the book. At the end of the book when Aslan comes to her and heals her, he considers her just as important as everyone else. She is the equivalent of Sarah Smith in The Great Divorce. The movie taking her out essentially gives the impression that minor characters are unimportant when Lewis was communicating the opposite with her character.

Dr Markos I really enjoyed your lecture! I am a Houston resident and had a brief contact with you once. I wish you could post an addendum with your fuller thoughts on the last two virtues, Hope and Love, since you had to truncate them in this speech. All the best!
