There is a series of books by Michael Grant named Gone, Hunger, etc (I guess there are 6 books of that [Gone] series). They too follow a similar story where kids become the supremes in their area with the adults transported outside "The Dome". The storyline is great and the writing style captivates the readers. This series is also a great one! Thank you guys!

ive started reading that and im only on hunger still ( havent had much motivation to read for the time being, still on the second book of alex rider and good girls guid to murder) and its an amazing series. There is another series which doesnt have a specific series name which ive also read which is also similar as anyone above the age of 18 get a disease that makes them zombie like and its really interesting

I work with autistic children… They have an autistic teenager in this series, she is high functioning… She is high functioning, because she is able to listen to instructions, or do anything on her own, this is actually a huge misconception of autistic people… They think they are “clumsy” but the truth is mostly all high functioning autistic kids are very intelligent, it’s just their social skills or some other area that is affected by autism but they are highly intelligent. I’m surprised they didn’t get any backlash for this. She also looked different like somebody with down syndrome, autistic, kids you wouldn’t even know they had autism

There is so much misinformation out there about autism. I saw a recap video for I Am Sam implying he has "an IQ of 20". The comments were full of people arguing about whether or not the average IQ is 70 🙄 Almost nobody recognized that autism and low IQ are not the same thing. But Sean Penn played the character with a slack jaw and a vacant stare. And he won an Oscar for it.

She most definitely has Down Syndrome. Also, labels like high and low functioning are pretty damaging to us neurodiversive people. It splits us into groups of "smart" and "stupid" when that is not the case. We all have different abilities and needs. Also, I really dislike when people say we're "suffering" from autism. It isn't a disease. Its who we are.

I honestly enjoyed this series. I feel like it's a really underrated Netflix gem that got cancelled far too soon. Alongside Santa Clarita Diet. Also, the emphasis on, "Chuck and his B O I S," gave me a good chuckle. The little jokes and sarcasm thrown into these videos really give them a personality. Definitely something that other recap channels tend to be missing due to their whole TTS set up rather than having an actual person give the recaps.

Actually the whole death at 21 sounds more like it was heavily borrowed from Logan's where in the original novel ,the young people are sent to something called Deep sleep stations. Which in reality their killed at 21.
