Ive got the TI and have to say, that viper is spot on. Will grab a copy when the virus presets can be imported. Great work. Both amazing synths.

I emailed to him in that respect last weekend. It's planned although it might be long to come since he said developing sysex import will be time consuming

Finally ! For people discussing if it's the same or not, you can think of it as synthesis images, the more we go into the future, the more the synthetic image/sound looks/sounds like the real thing ...it's not exactly the same, but we REALLY getting there .... Thank you Adam !

Definitely some timbral differences between the two to my ears but I can tell this VST was modelled after the Virus and it gets pretty close!

who cares about the minute differences between the 2? I've got a Virus Rack and I compared some of the presets that are also available in Viper... It's definitely spot-on, Adam Szabo did a great job in reproducing the Virus sound. A Szabo confirmed to me that importing sysex files is part of the roadmap, so that's good new!

I have a TI 2 and while it is not the same for various reasons this is a nice sounding VST and track worthy. I wouldn't snub it over the TI if I wanted to lay down some stuff without firing up the virus.

I also planned on getting a Virus TI since many in the Hardstyle scene uses it and from what I've heard, it's an amazing synth. But after doing some research, I realized it's pointless to own a Virus TI if you use FL Studio (which I do). Comes with a lot of trouble in FL Studio and the developers have no interest in fixing it. Viper isn't 100% the same as a Virus TI but close enough and will be a good substitute for the Virus TI. Viper is the best VST currently (out all of the one's I've tried) for pads, very rich sound. Just like the Virus TI :P
@shitmandood6 жыл бұрын
I didn't know that about the Virus not working with FL Studio. That's a shame. I got FL Studio Producer many years ago & still keep it current. My first DAW. It has one of the best Piano Roll/MIDI editors of just about every DAW I've seen & I still like to use it & the Riff Maker. Over the years, I've collected a couple of other DAWS: Reason and then Bitwig is the latest addition. However, I'll probably just stick with the Viper VST when I get it instead of dealing with the TI at least for now. Although what I hear people are spending a fortune on these days isn't the Virus but modular synth components. Boggles the mind.
@EyezerProductionz6 жыл бұрын
It does work in FL Studio, but far from as efficient as it should be. The developer of FL Studio himself (Gol) is pretty anti-hardware. The only hardware he has given some credit is the Virus synths, otherwise he has said in an interview that hardware synths never really impressed him at all. I think he shoots himself in the foot by not making sure there is support for at least the Virus TI for FL Studio. I've seen multiple established producers switch from FL Studio to another DAW because of this particular issue. The problem with FL Studio (and I love this DAW deeply, I will probably only use FL Studio as my DAW of choice) is the developer(s) are marketing it for commercial use. Most FL Studio users use it for mainstream EDM or Hiphop. But if you want to take your music to another level, you will need a Virus (or Viper as a good alternative). Image-Line sadly does not have us who want to take our music to a higher level in their main interests. They want the Martin Garrix kind of producers to use their software. It really sucks because FL Studio is in my opinion the superior DAW, except when it comes to wanting to use the Virus TI. I think the non-TI Virus synths work better but I'm not sure. But I hope Adam Szabo will keep improving Viper over the years. It's already amazing and I hope it will get even more amazing and maybe even rival out the Virus TI almost completely :P
@shitmandood6 жыл бұрын
I just upgraded my Producer edition to the latest release & the demo that played was very high quality. He might have a point. However, there are other systems as you've said to mess with the hardware. Right now I want to look into music production so not as interested in the hardware just yet. Hell, I just downloaded the free Zebralette, which it stated is a trojan horse to get you to buy Zebra2. After listening to the presets, I could really see why it would be worth the money. It seems like you can't have enough synths to mess with. My goal right now is to produce a shit-ton of tracks with the stuff I currently own (I still need a good Bass VST though) & then after I've done that, I'll probably look at getting some hardware, perhaps next year if I'm on track with track-building.

well i had a novation ultra nova in 2017 and sold it.. it was a hardware synth, yeah sure it looks good and fun to play with the knobs and buttons and one reason i sold is because it had not many factory patches... also i have both soft synths in my daw and real hardware synths and i must admit now we live in the time where they almost don't make sense anymore to use hardware.. same goes for reverb, delays, mastering hardware units.. people who listen to music wont know what you used whether it was a plugin or real hardware. does the viper load virus ti patches and can it load older virus patches for example from virus c? i think if yes, then this is revolutionary.

@theeltea6 жыл бұрын
I sure do. And have been owning Viruses since the original "A" came out in late 90s to the Ti2. So, yeah, I kinda "know" what I talk about... You either fix your DAW or get a decent audio-interface. Or both.
@Sunstatemusic6 жыл бұрын
TheLT Are Antelope Audio Orion 32 and RME FF800 32 decent cards? And are Cubase 8.5, Logic Pro X decent DAWs?
@theeltea6 жыл бұрын
Nope. The regular Orion 32 has been nothing but trouble over USB and most people I know have switched to the converter-mode of it. If you're getting USB issues with your Ti, there are options to fix it. In no way analog outputs give you "much much better" audio if you're not experiencing USB issues. While I don't use USB, it's totally useable on the road or in an isolated case scenario like this.

I'm still not 100% convinced with Viper (just yet). I feel that the FX section in the Virus Ti is just too unique... and has not been replicated very well in Viper. For example, I think the EQ sounds very different between the Virus Ti and Viper. And the Distortion sounds a bit different as well... hmmm Still hoping one day I can drop the Virus and just use Viper!
@adamszabomusic4 жыл бұрын
Its impossible to create a 1:1 replica, only Access can create a true virus vst. This is an emulation and there could be some minor differences. The goal here was to create a synth the is very close in functionality and sound to a virus.

Hi, its very easy. Just save every preset (.fxp files) you create in a folder, then in Viper load the Empty soundbank from the factory banks folder, and replace each Init presets with your saved presets. Then you can save the entire bank.

Sure, please suggest me a cross-platform "platform" where I can write in Ruby for the interface, and use Assembly for the engine.
@theeltea6 жыл бұрын
Please, suggest where I can get some money to throw your way so you can actually go and learn some decent programming language so you could then write your plug-in for us mac users to enjoy and stop making excuses. This manner of talking doesn't earn you any points, Adam. 32-bit windows-only in 2018 is pathetic and you definately know it! A sizeable portion of music producers use the Mac platform and you know it as well. You're not an open-source developer, you offer commercial products. Learn to take suggestions if you intend to be a respected and known developer. I also remember Urs Heckman being a cocky smartass about his genius copy protection and then got his ass handed over to him. A customer doesn't have to know or care about your preferred SDK. I would pay up to $200 for a decent-quality mac version of your products. I am sure others would too.
@adamszabomusic6 жыл бұрын
"I am sorry, but this is not feasible for me at the moment" it says that on my website but you still come and demand that I do a mac version for you. Its you who should not get too emotional please. It made for Pc it is what it is, like it or not, there is nothing that I can do at the moment. Time to move on. If you dont want to use the many ways you can use windows VSts on your mac thats not my fault.
@theeltea6 жыл бұрын
The only feasible way to use a Windows VST on a Mac is to run VEP. There aren't that "many" ways to run Windows VSTs on an Audiounit host like Logic and most of them are downright kludgy. It's much easier for me to deal with the hardware itself than bother with all the workarounds. The appeal of your software is to replace the hardware and its associated overhead and streamline the composition process. Are you having reading comprehension problems? In no way "Please, step away" is a DEMAND. Demands never start with a "please". Requests do. I am getting all emotional when a developer gets so easily frustrated with the requests of the user his product is intended for. You are a musician yourself, you of all people should know how it is, managing a modern computer-based studio.
