For clarification purposes: the airport manager has got nothing to do with the stress passengers go through in the airports. Airport managers take care of the facility and ensure regulations are followed, and safety is maintained. It is the immigration service and NDLEA that stress travellers, not the airport management.

I have been to automated airports where one doesn't need to come in contact with human beings. After checking in(even some airlines have automated check in) you walk through automated immigration process and of course get your hand luggage through the scanner without getting to talk with anybody. Functional airport will reduce those immigration rascality. Automated airport will eliminate it.
