I got my SRRV 3 weeks ago in Makati. I don't regret the 6-week wait. The staff walked me through it like the baby I am. Now I can legally open up a bank account by myself in the Philippines, and not have to worry about registering for the tourist visa. Just renue my SRRV card before it expires, and pay the yearly srrv fee.

It appears that the SSRV visa route may be best for me...even if plans for my stay in the PI may or may not be long term....definitely a lot less headaches and other hoops to jump through. I agree using a service makes sense as they know the paperwork and system and can get things done quicker than doing it yourself. In addition, they are responsible if something was submitted incorrectly or if there are issues with the paperwork. I have about 3 years to go before I may retire in the PI, so I need to get educated now so I am ready when the time comes. Thanks for sharing this vital information.

Philippine Retirement Authority pays accredited Marketers a cut from application costs. Applicant need not pay fees to agencies to obtain SRRV visa assistance. A TIP for good service may be in order. I paid 100$ tip in addition to the actual hard costs to obtain SRRV.

I used to think that, but the issue is the lump sum deposit - specifically where you have to put it, and how you get it back (if ever). The Thai system is better - you can put it any Thai bank account and then show proof of deposit - simple and you get your choice of bank. I'm very wary of transferring lump sums to some account I don't have control over. Personally I'd use the tourist visa/renew approach, but I think at some point they'll stop that. But like you say, research is the key.

Most of ys can qualify for the $10,000. However, a more flexible option is to use the visior extension process. I just extended mine for 2 months and it cost $50 USD (so$25/month)which is not bad. @@SirMountainpass

Two points to make….if one already in the Philippines, he or she will not get the 13A spousal visa but only the 13A probationary visa, obtaining the spousal only a year later. The other point is that some services are now available online such as tourist visa waiver, ECC- B, tourist visa extension and annual report after registration.

JR, please use a utility knife to cut the tape around the receptacle. Spackle on a bit of joint compound, wait to dry, and then sand. Might spend an hour sanding the wall also. 🫣 Otherwise thank you for sharing your knowledge 😀a bit of biz advice for what it’s worth. Details matter to those you are targeting to serve in regards to their stay in the Philippines.

Paul, I found this on the Internet..ECC-B (Exit Clearance) and how to get it.. The B is for people who have stayed for less than 6 months and plan to return. The ECC-B A is for those who have stayed 6 months or more. One needs to apply 3 days prior to departure. ECC-B may be secured at the BI Main Office or in the airport upon departure. Fill up the ECC Application form. Note that the form requires you to attach a 2×2 colored photograph with a white background taken within the last three (3) months. Present your passport and ACR I-Card. On many postings, it does say you can get it at the airport on the day of departure.
@marcoroma2863
@marcoroma2863 Жыл бұрын
The ECC is only required if one extends his tourist visa past 6 months of stay. The ECC-B is required by anyone in possession of ACR-I card who wishes to re-enter the country as it keeps the 13A active and has a return authorisation whilst the ECC-A is for those leaving the Philippines permanently…

For the SSRV visa, does JRC work for the PRA and get paid through the application fee or is there a use fee paid to JRC? I only ask, because there are individuals that are PRA marketeers that don't charge for their service as they get paid from the members application fee from the PRA....although it is great to give them a tip for getting the process completed in a timely manner.....they will never ask for it, but it is always appreciated.

JR may know his stuff and Sir Kervin in Cebu gets things moving. The rest of the staff have such a high turn over they have no clue and will tell you anything. This company cost me a lot of money. The staff would consistently give wrong information. The SRRV is not all it’s cracked up to be and only marginally cheaper than just doing visa extensions. JR knows all the issues I’ve had with the company. My very last dealing with them after years of having trouble with them. I asked them to do my exit clearance. I was told just go to Manila and do it there. NB they did say 7 days before leaving. So I go to Manila. Cost to me was flight and accommodation…. Me thinking 1 day and it’s done that’s why I came to Manila. Noooooooo. All the information gets submitted one day. Then you need to return 3 days later to collect it. More cost for transport , accommodation etc etc etc. the concept of the company is good. I think they may have grown too fast and the staff turn over is high you get a new person to deal with every month or so. Do your own due diligence

Whatever you do if you are going for the military SRRV it's best to get all your documents a past old in the United States because it will take forever to have it done if you wait to go to the Philippines and then start it it took me one day to do my police background check take my DD 214 and my Social Security verification letter to a notary get those notarized and drive to the capital building in Pennsylvania which is Harrisburg and I had them apostilled in 30 minutes it cost me $45 so when I go to the Philippines September 12 I will have all my paperwork ready I can get the medical exam over there And I should be good to go I have the money to deposit you have to pay 1500 in the bank and I think the processing fee is 1400 I was told by a lot of people it takes forever if you do it in the Philippines because of the way they are unorganized it was very simple for me to have it done

Second and this may sound crazy but KZbin Dr Jordan Perterson and/or his daughter Mikaela (sp?) Peterson and the "all meat diet" and especially watch her TED talk. There are thousands of people out there who have changed there lives by eliminating everything but meat because their bodies were basically allergic to almost everything else especially grains. Mikaela had hip AND ankle replacements in her early 20's from R.A. and was suicidal from depression. This is not medical advice but if you are that far gone it may be too late but what do you have to lose at this point? Best of luck.

Good content Paul. I went through the SRRV process at JRC in Dumaguete. They were professional throughout the process and answered inquiries quickly. Although the process could be faster, it was slower in Manila , not JRC. Thanks Kim at JRC for all your help. One oddity of the SRRV is that you have to inform SRRV before departure and upon return when you travel internationally. This can be done online but is inconvenient. One thing that JRC must implement is the ability for people to pay them by card. It would definitely expedite the payment time and lessons the need to deal with cash, especially when one is paying thousands of foreign currency.

I'm currently on my extension for 6 months, I don't renew till January 18th of 2024.. I am looking at starting my 13A soon, me and my wife was told it could be a year to receive our PSA marriage certificate... we have the other marriage certificate with the stamp... it's true about the Philippines, many forms and lots of paperwork lol , I been thru all that/ and my ACR card will be ready on the 5th of September

To understand J.R. clearly, go to settings and set playback speed to .75, Paul sounds a little slow, but J.R. sounds slowed down and quite understandable.

Oh good, I want to hear this one. I contacted a Visa consultant who appeared on TheFilipinaPea. I emailed this consultant several times and never got back to me. If I fired up my laptop I could find my copy of sent emails to reveal which consultancy group it was, but I can't be bothered. Thank you Paul for this video. ACR card is good proof of senior citizen for discounts. When going to immigration, bring your own pen. If you want to have some fun, use a flourescent pen, it won't photocopy. Just sayin

Paul - this was very good info and very helpful. I will be contacting JRC to verify s few details on the Military side of the Visa. The things you pointed out that JR did not are also a game changer for us foreigners - hehe. Stay Cool Old Dog and we are watching for the next New Trick !!!

I am here in Cebu City. My family and I have used JRC for numerous things...most recently my son's dual citizenship and, currently, my permanent 13a. Very professional and efficient...and JR is a good guy.

Outstanding interview by both Paul and JR. My takeaways: the visa process is complex, and the rules are subject to change! I would hire a good consultant like JR in a nanosecond.

I didn’t have a good experience with JRC. I wouldn’t recommend them. Their employees are not very well informed
