The rock carvings& sculpture work is amazing. Our ancestors had exceptional engineering talent. Those rock carvings are something a civil engineer of today can’t even imagine to make. Harish Bali is doing an amazing job showcasing India’s ancient Hindu architecture to the world. Thanks for showing lesser known places of mainline tourist circuit. You have a very soothing style of presentation. Also, in recent videos asking local pandit ji was really helpful for understanding importance of the place. I think sir, you should make one Vindhyachal special series covering all important places in one series. This mountain range is both geologically important as it was the source of iron in ancient times as well as rare precious diamonds and so forth. Spiritually it was a place where ancient sages did meditation that's why bharadwaj rishi recommended lord Ram to spend his vanavas here. I must mention here, broken face are probably due to ghazavid invasion of kalinjar. As Vindhyachal divides India in North and South, ancient trade route of dakshina path would pass through this region from prayagraj to ujjain? Also, this region was part of ancient chhedi Kingdom mentioned in Mahabharata. Various major kingdoms held control over here including gupta, maurya, kannauj Empire, chandela Dynasty, gurjara pratihar. Later Northern invaders changed the fete of India. However, only akbar could hold control over here. But that was shortlived as chhatrasal of panna took control. Later when he grew old about 80years he sought assistance of Peshwa bajirao. Thus maratha became important players in gwalior and jhansi Finally British destroyed this fort for the fear of rebellion. Kalpi nearby was also important. Also the 7 storied temple was destroyed probably not by earthquake but by invaders as idol worship did not suit them. Finally I have to say inspite of great advancement in building and architecture as shown here, we are constructing newer temples like shopping malls. In fact, there is another fort madpha nearby. Forts at ajaygarh etc are also related. There is an old doordarshan documentary by prof pushpesh pant on KZbin. Also another older one with some intro about chandela Dynasty. ASI Lucknow circle has some 15min video on KZbin.
