My very first fountain pen was the Visconti Van Gough “Starry Night”. I really liked the Irises pen as well. I used it for a while, but when I changed the ink, it didn’t work anymore. No matter what I tried, it wouldn’t perform. I was very disappointed. I really liked the pen. Today, you mentioned having similar problems and the solution of buying Visconti ink! I’m so excited! I’ll be trying it right away! The seller had given me ink from another company, which is what I used to refill. Thank you!

I also got a Visconti Van Gogh recently, mine is the Starry Night version (which is my favorite Van Gogh painting). I am very impressed with mine as well. The steel nib is quite a nice writer. Based on your love for pens and that golf course shot on your monitor, I think we would get along pretty well. Great review!!

+Rob P. Thanks. I like the colors on the Starry Night very much. If I was to get another, that would be the one. The golf course currently on my monitor is Caledonia, in South Carolina. It's the first work from the incredible golf course designer, Mike Strantz. He designed some of my favorite courses in both North and South Carolina.

I have a Van Gogh Pine Trees. It needed extensive nib work which was disappointing at the time however it is now probably one of my best writers. It’s just a shame I had to jump through hoops to get it to write.

Lovely Pen and Painting of Jeanne Kéfer daughter of Fernands composer friend. Thx "Figi" never seen it before or heard of the man and went on the hunt right after seeing it here. Im torn between the Iris and the Wheatfield under Thunderclowds as I need one that has green in it, but my favorite Van Gogh painting are one of his Boots Artworks but the Pen doesn't fit into my current collection and is hard to find.

I recently acquired a pair of Visconti Van Goghs from a store in Prague at I believe a good price. To price match, could you tell me what you paid for the Irises model? (I got the Irises and the Sunflowers, former in Broad, latter in Fine). Thanks.

Great review. I am thinking about whether to get Irises. It looks lovely.

I recently bought a Visconti Rembrandt in white resin but I was very disappointed with the translucent bits to be seen where the barrel meets the nib section. I think it gave the pen a rough unfinished appearance. I’m sending it back!

Tempted this week. Been debating for several weeks. But which color!?????

While I think a Visconti is a good pen, I would shudder to carry it, even in a sleeve. It looks more like a desk show off pen, rather than something one could use every day. A gift pen, of sorts. The steel nibbed capless is a better choice, at least to me. Or a Safari. But that's just me.

In what year did Visconti 1st sell the Van Gogh line of pens?
@DD-d6d39 жыл бұрын
gorgeous pain. I think the translucent part of the section maybe because the resin is thinner at that point. Just a guess. I really like your reviews. Please keep up the good work. Very enjoyable.

Would you say the nib is smoother than the one in the faber castell loom? Great review thanks!
@FigbootonPens7 жыл бұрын
I'd say the nib is a bit smoother than the Loom's...but the Loom has a very distinct feedback that I really enjoy. Between the two, I care for the Loom's nib more.

What other video games do you enjoy? Do you play COD?
@FigbootonPens8 жыл бұрын
+Rob P. I don't play COD, but consider myself a gamer in general...mainly PC over console. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Fallout 4 as well as the two GTA IV expansion packs I never finished. I used to work for a computer gaming peripheral company and have attended many professional gaming tournaments. I once competed in a professional Quake 3 tournament. My goal was not to finish last...and I didn't...so at least I didn't embarrass myself. :-)

i think its an amazing game, i like the story behind it very much, wbu?
@robp.77698 жыл бұрын
I have to admit I haven't played the campaign yet but I'm sure it's quite riveting as it deals with real events. The multiplayer experience is incredibly immersive with graphics that are truly out of this world on console.

I paid £162 for this pen its not worth all that money imho I think its worth about £45 It’s too light in weight . And I thought the nib was not nice very slippery like a ballpoint So I took it in to my workshop and ground and polished it into a italic nib, wow what a difference it now writes superb Don’t like the magnet cap I wish it was a screw type I guess I was fooled by all the hype In the Chinese pens I buy Jinhao Duke and Crocodile. Crocodile are superb and they do a very nice copy of a parker duofold for about £14 They are way more tactile than the Visconti , I am going to be very cautious about buying any more expensive pens they are just not worth the money The Jinhao 159 pens are amazing pens for about £5 from China and when I make the nib into a italic nib they are equal to a pen costing hundreds
@FigbootonPens8 жыл бұрын
In the US, I believe it sells for around $225...which I admit is a bit pricey. I like it, though. It's actually the pen I brought to work with me today.I have some Jinhao and Duke pens that I will get around to reviewing. I was impressed by the Duke Shark I picked up. I'm not that familiar with Crocodile...I'll have to check them out.Thanks for watching!
