Anyone compare the Viscount 70s piano sounds with the Dexibell's?

Thanks, Chuck! Well done! It appears there is no way of setting the range of the Crtl1, 2 & 3 CC values. Seems to always be 0-127. I'd like it if there was a way to decrease this range. As an aside, I wonder if Viscount will produce a Drum Module with three 3 digit number displays as the one seen on the External Module: one for Drum Kit, another for tempo, and the last for pattern variations. It could have a tap tempo button like on the main Effects panel and maybe a few fill buttons, with Start/Stop. Instead of Piano 1 through 8 as seen on the A.Piano module, it could have a ring of drum sounds: Kick, Snare, HiHat, Tom 1, Tom 2, Crash, Ride, Aux (for Tom 3, Ride 2 or Crash 2) where each piece of the kit could be swapped out individually to make a custom kit from the available sets of sounds. . It ought to have standard Midi mapping to the keys, too. This way your friend drummer could bring his/her electronic kit with Midi Out to control the Viscount's Drum Module if the drummer feels the Viscount sounds are superior.

Can i put two Piano Modules in it, to combine A rhodes with a Wurlitzer Piano, or whatever combination, where one module has two sounds in it i want to combine.

Awesome instrument and demonstration! ! Would love to know ....how well can you control VST’s with the external module. Would love to understand how I could use software instruments and DAW with this board. Is it straightforward enough?

Thank you very much for your videos about the Legend ! What do you think of it, in term of sounds (with the piano module), comparing to a Korg SV2 ?

Viscount sounds spectacular! But when it comes to comparisons, that's subjective, and best left to the ears of individuals. What one person likes, another doesn't, and vice versa... That's why I have these policies: kzbin.infoabout

Chuck, following your reviews frequently. You are sharing a lot of valuable information…like it. The Legend 70‘s sounds like a very good board. Have you tried to play some of the Nord pianos through the Legends keys? Would be very interest i such a video. I am using a Stage 3 compact. The pianos definitely need weighted keys and placing the stage on top of the Viscount sounds very tempting for me and than having synth and organ from the stage and playing their pianos with the Viscount keybed. And than having the nice Wurlitzer and Rhodes and the Clavs from the Legend 70‘s. What do you think about that combination?

That could very well be the ultimate 2-tier keyboard setup! I don't use the Nord Stage as I have no need for the synth portion of it, and I don't do that much organ. But I do have the Nord Piano 4 - the key action on the Piano 4 is very different than that of the Stage in that the Piano 4 is built to more closely act like the keys on an acoustic grand. The new Piano 5 has the same keys as the Piano 4, and that key action is one of my favorites! You can't have that kind of action on the Stage series if you want to have better representation of the lighter key action of synthesizer and organ.

Thanks for the demo, Chuck. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of MIDI channel ("nd1") when channels 001, 002, and 003 seem to be the channels where the actual control is being done. I'm assuming it depends on how you've configured the connections. But what would be a scenario where you would use JUST the "nd1" channel? Also, around the 6:20 mark...can you think of a reason why Viscount decided NOT to display the volume setting of the current channel when you change channels. For some reason, it displays the volume of a previous channel. If I was playing that keyboard and looked at the controls, how would I know what the volume of my current channel was set to? Finally, around 16:19 you turned something off. I thought it was the entire external module, but how was the pad sound still playing then?

I think you missed the part that explains what appears to be displayed as N1D - I suggest you rewatch the video, paying particular attention to the portion beginning at 4:03

As for 16:19, as I pointed out - you actually have two "External" modules - the 1 and 2 buttons tell the module which one you want. Turning anything on or off applies to whichever of the 1 or 2 modules were active, but it doesn't affect the other.

@@PianoManChuck You're right. I get it now. The "Port" setting allows you to switch between MIDI ("n1d") and usb. The "Channel" setting allows you to select channels. Makes sense.
