I have ADHD- boredom is painful for me so I live to take gadgets on international flights. I’ve owned numerous VR headsets since 2016, and have taken various mobile HMDs on economy flights. We get to lock out the world around me and watch films and shows in literally what is essentially our own private theatres. Now the Vision Pro is out, I am supremely jealous (I can’t justify $7,000 Australian dollars for it,) but I understand it, and what it means for the future others do not yet see. For better or worse. In the interim, I use Xreal glasses and something called an Xreal beam, where I can only watch my content, browse, or read my brooks on a single screen. But I don’t need to wear a cumbersome headset, just a pair of rayban-like shades. Pros and cons, amirite? Very good review from a strikingly handsome couple. Exceedingly socially attractive; you both draw people in.

The person using it may not feel like weird, but it’s pretty funny to see from the outside the person wearing the VP using the hand gestures, especially the pinching motions. It just reminds me a lot of the Google Glass sketch on SNL by Fred Armisen many years ago, albeit the VP is much more technologically advance than the Glass. Unlike Glass though, the VP definitely a stay-inside kind of product. If it reaches around $999, it would become a lot more compelling.

Combine that with noise cancelling headphones and maybe people can help overcome their anxiety/stress.

What a wonderful world to live in where everyone literally lives in their own instance of reality with no shared experiences anymore whatsoever. Also stops strangers from talking to you. @@gustavctresselt6192 I’m not against the device in general (in fact I own half a dozen VR headsets myself lol). I am against people wearing it in public. Thanks for the video. This is the first video that I've seen with an Apple Vision Pro on an airplane. I do find it interesting that most people seem to simply walk by, almost trying to ignore your presence. I wonder how many months it will take for all of us to have seen the Apple Vision in public? A future video: Maybe do a followup in a month, 6 months and a year. You will likely run into others in the airport.

Maybe I missed it but did you actually use the Vision Pro before going to the airport? I get understand your schtick of trying out tech for travel but a lot of the issues you seemed to have with the Vision Pro could've been figured out and/or resolved had you spent quality time with it before going to the airport. Case in point: you seemed confused by the fact that the Home Screen and windows you set up weren't following you while walking. That's the most basic characteristic of the Vision Pro that wouldn't feel so surprising had you spent time with it at home on the couch then got up to get a drink only to realize that everything you were playing with was locked into place based on where you were last. In fact, I find that feature to be one the coolest aspects of the Vision Pro. Imagine that you had some chores to do and you pinned them to certain objects in different rooms. Rather than having to carry around a list you could just walk into a room and instantly see what you need to tend to. Another really cool feature I saw someone else use was setting timers over pots. One pot is boiling noodles and the other is searing chicken. Having a timer over each pot with the recipe pinned above your cutting board feels like the future. But I digress. Your "review" was pretty cool and while it showed some of the amazing advantages of the Vision Pro you also found some of its weaknesses. Safe travels. Cheers!
@gravel.travel7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Well, we probably should have said in the intro of the video that we aren't tech reviewers first, we are travelers who happen to love tech. We got the headset on Feb 2nd (day of public release), used for the day and then flew with them on Feb 3rd. So the concept was to give as real of a first time use on an airplane as possible. Apple's main product perk is that they are very user friendly, even in a tech that has never been used before like this one. Even with a lot of beta features, it was indeed user friendly with a lot of surprises as we've never used a spatial computer while walking hahah. Appreciate your curiosity towards our POV and watching the video!

I like the part when he left some windows behind and had to retrieve them, and then he had to carry the KZbin window with him. That makes it feel like the windows are real objects. In real life, if you don't carry a physical object with you, it gets left behind. If you want an item to come with you, you have to physically carry it with you. It just make sense that the only way the windows can come with you as you're walking, is for you to grab and hold onto it. Let's hope Apple refines this function to make it even more realistic. Also, are the immersive backgrounds customizable? Can we make and add our own bgs? Awesome video.
