I still believe his work is every bit as good as Bresson’s. He has the ability to tell a story like no other in each photograph. My hero

What a wonderful gem for anybody interested in understanding the approach of masters. My takeaway - EE was not encumbered by intellectualising and adding meaning to the photographs rather content with making photos instinctively. That is such a simple yet enjoyable approach …encourages me to do the same. 😊

Another thing. Erwitt just like Winogrand seems amused by some of these questions. Personal Identity? Larger Statements? Themes? - "I just take pictures..."

Love the little intro with the photos and music. And then getting to hear from some of the most prolific photographers of the 20th century.

Elliots wit, humor, and compassion for the human condition is just superb.

I like how he's as witty as his pictures

He's great, I love his sense of humor: so dry! Here complete lack of recognition just amplified it that much more. I feel like the interview didn't do him justice.

06:35 there are self portraits... of yourself - Thank you Barbarelee for clarifying this often misunderstood concept.

Wow, he doesn't want to be there . . . and I don't blame him. It feels more like an interrogation than an interview.

For someone known to make comedic images, he doesn't strike me as outrageously funny. An interesting, if downbeat interview. Thanks for sharing.

Cause he's a photographer, not a comedian.

Mind numbingly boring interview. Elliott Erwitt is one of the handful of greatest photographers in the world but as a speaker he ain't no Orson Welles!

Interviewers who are actually interested in their guests don't do as well. Take Johnny carson and dick cavett for example. Dick liked his guests and was deeply interested in them. Johnny not so much. But which name is recognized by more?
