If you can also try Secret of Mana. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It’s on snes and ps4 (remake). The original snes version is also available on switch. It’s also available iPhone/android.

... game ain't open world though. More like "open areas" which are segmented spaces that are massive, think of it like some MMO areas like in Final Fantasy XIV, Xenoblade Chronicles or even that other Mana remake that released a year or so ago.

The Elemental Vessels will certainly spice up combat more, not to mention the brand new job classes that weren't in Trials of Mana (Reaper, Soothsayer, and Maverick). I'm looking more and more forward to this.

It doesn't feel as snappy as trials, though this was probably intentional. People have mentioned it feels like they're running in mud, which it does really. They need to fix the camera as well. It randomly zooms out 2 business days so you can barely see the characters, plus when the camera goes behind a tree or rock, that doesn't help. There are fps drops and stuttering on pc and consoles as well. I even went back to play trials, and it actually feels better imo. I'm still excited, and it's a day one for me, but I want this game to be the best it can. It was a different studio that made the game to trials, and it shows.

@@NintenPizza I use the term "battle system" because I don't know how else to describe it but I don't mean the actual combat itself, I'm talking about the system. It's more than a simple hack 'n slash that the mana series always had (and other typical action jRPGs), now you do stuff like creating a defense barrier, summoning a controllable golem, pulling smaller enemies or pulling toward larger enemies, etc

@@jaredknight8838 I didn’t have to play all the FF games but I did play 22 of them in order of release for a year straight. Doing the same thing with Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. I have played P3P, P4G, P5, P5R, P3R, and just yesterday finished SMT3N. Starting SMT5V today then Soul Hackers 2 before Metaphor comes out. After these three games I’m movie onto the Mana series then Kingdom Hearts. I’ll probably play the Life is Strange series and Cyberpunk 2077 in between Mana and Kingdom Hearts to have a break of JRPGs for a while. Still have to play Dragon Quest 11 and the remakes of 1, 2, and 3 as well. I also have obtained the Platinum trophy on the PS5 for every single game I have finished thur far. I’m enjoying myself quite a lot playing through all of these old franchises. I’m having an absolute blast.

Seiken Densetsu/Mana series and Dragon Quest are the best franchises from Square Enix. Very hyped for this game, it looks magnificent. I hope it does well enough so that we can get more of them in the future. 🙏🏻

Fyi A combat designer from dmc 5 worked on this game.Pre ordered my steelbook from gametstop cant wait. No switch so i wonder if sales will satisfy square though.

At this point I don't think anything would satisfy SQEX. FF16 did 3M copies in 5 days in just ONE platforms and still expected more. For example Capcom considered Dragon's Dogma 2 a success and that game achieved 2M copies sold 1 month after release while being available on THREE platforms and not just 1 like FF16. I seriously don't get Square Enix and their expectations

@@Xerzene while this is true, FF Games used to sell over 5 million plus on one platform(even FF 13 and FF 15 SOLD MOSTLY ON ps3 and ps4, no PC at launch.). FF cant keep changing gameplay style imo to hit elden ring sales level anymore. But FF7 remake is when the sales started to slow down. JP sales are really bad now for FF, JP sales need to get back up to satisfy their expectations

Nah they don't only put effort to FF games. Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest also get a lot of love from them. The ones who don't get that much attention are their smaller titles like Triangle Strategy, SaGa Emerald Beyond, NEO The World Ends With You and more. Mostly cuz they don't spend money to promote them
