Aren't they wonderful? We've had them out at Bunny Hall, but seaside and the wind never lets the flowers get that good, I'm going to get some and move them to the more protected garden spaces I think :)

Yes @Cadince Christian she is SO good at that. That's why I had to share for example the potting area, where an old family photo and other things just always find a spot and are so curated but in a very 'natural' way. She has an eye.

Well good morning @Edward Kenneth I hope you are well. Yes LOL the 'storm' for us was just a windy day haha. The winds only hit about 30 mph which is nothing, there was rain and wind, but overall just like any random storm that blows up out here. I see others might not have been so lucky. The gardens were happy but I would have liked a bit more rain to be honest :) I hope all is well in the Village.

Hello Donna, such a beautiful place to live with a stunning view of the pond. It’s a good use of the swing which has now become the bench. What a lovely place to sit and ponder over life. The garden is always an extension of a living space, it is obviously looked after well and very well loved 🥰 That blue hydrangea is so beautiful, it all depends on the soil to what colour they display. Thankyou so much for sharing 😊😊😊
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you liked it @jason nash and yes the old swing made into a bench is just the sort of thing we do around here, lol, waste not want not and all that ;) Yes the soil does affect the colour of hydrangea and our soil PH here on the cape is such that we get these amazing blues and things like rhodys, azaelas, acers, and blueberries just LOVE it and flourish.

In England we call your money plants Honesty. We let them dry and they make beautiful arrangements as they dry a beautiful silver.
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
We actually call them honesty here as well, but also go by the term 'money plant' and I always liked that name. Yes as they dry and grey they look like 'coins' and my grandfather used to grow vast amounts of them and dry them in his large potting shed, was always a happy memory for me.

@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
Yes I LOVE a brick path. Those bricks @Forest BirdGirl for the front walk as well as the walk to the chicken house and even in the kitchens surround around the old wood stove and the sitting rooms fireplace were all salvaged from an old building in Boston that had to come down. They have so much character.

Beautiful. Are mosquitoes prevalent there?
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
During the summer, yes, usually early morning with the dew or after a rain, but in the warm afternoon not as much. In my garden early morning (I'm a morning person) in Summer I cover up with gloves long sleeves and even a veil on my big garden hat. It's just what I'm used to, but by afternoon the hot sun chases them away.
