Calling NC home for many years now, I absolutely love the entire NC coastline but CB is definitely one of my favorite spots. Early morning fishing 🎣, swimming with sharks 🦈 and dodging rip currents 🌊 never gets old. Some great seafood 🎣 🦀 in the area too. I just don’t ever want it to turn into a Myrtle or Virginia Beach overrun by crowds. 😎☀️🌊🏖🍔🦀🍻🎶🎉 ❤️

What a nice video of the beach! Wilmington is a deep water port city. if your a beach lover and are coming for the first time please keep in mind that this beach is unusually deep only 15-30 ft out in some places which can cause unusually strong undercurrents, rip tides etc; getting caught up in the surf the wrong way will twist your body like a pretzel. Great for surfers, boogie boarders, & adult swimmers, but not for amateurs who can't swim well. There's also sharks (mostly just sand sharks) and Rays close to the shore. I bumped into an enormous ray while swimming at CB and it nearly scared me to death. Surf fishing is pretty good here and everything from flounder to tuna can be caught at the piers or right off the beach.

My uncle lives in Carolina Beach and we love visiting him. The beach and surrounding state park, waterways, and other areas are gorgeous. It’s also call that you get to drive on the beach. But beware: the city is predatory in terms of their parking. VERY hard to find any free parking, it can be confusing, and they go out of their way to find violator’s to ticket. I Wrightsville Beach is just as bad. I’d suggest going to Kure Beach or Ft. Fisher Beach. It’s a little farther down the island and you can’t drive onto the beaches, but it’s just as beautiful and you won’t be as harassed about the ridiculous parking rules.

The waves are high because of 'the great drop off' (local name) its an abnormally low basin just off shore thats similar in structure to Big Sur in Cali. The surfers also love it when storm activity is present because of the high waves mother nature provides during storms.

Yep, that’s right. If I want a wider beach with a gentle slope into the water I head to Topsail/Surf City. Either way the waters are great in both areas 👍🏽😎

Yes that's true but I enjoy Carolina beach. I have been there 4 times. You can drive out on the beach but it will cost you. I think it was l $30.00 when I was there 2 years ago. The boardwalk and shops are really nice though.
