Harran ruins is a major ancient city in Upper Mesopotamia whose site is in the modern village of Harran. It is famous for its traditional "beehive" adobe houses, constructed entirely without wood.
I hitich hiked to Akcakala, an ethnic Arab town in Şanlıurfa Province. Akçakale forms a divided city with Tell Abyad which already lies in Syria.

So interesting but so sad to see the tragic effects of war forcing people to leave their birth country. I wish everyone can be safe and enjoy their life.

Thank you for sharing your adventure. Yes, it is a shame that peoples can not get along with one another; war is always and sadly meaningless and childish.

Quelle adventure! Tu parles.! 😊😊😊

Glad to see you hitching a ride when necessary. Love those cone houses & am fascinated that smoke goes out but rain doesn't come in! Water in canals for agriculture but where does water come from?

Actually vast majority of Syrian women dress like that regardless if they are conservative or not. Just go to other Turkish cities or cross the border.
