I was there in the Peloponnese in 1999 for three weeks. This was my favorite place and we stayed their in the little stone village. I have picture album and wonderful memories from our three week visit there.

Thank you Newbys for showing my country around the world, so beautifully!!! May you be blessed with all the beauty and well being you've been depicting to all us followers of your living on our gem planet!!!💞🌍🚐🛣📹 By the way, I'm one of the very few people, who, like you, have been cleaning the environment off rubbish, anywhere I've been, even in my neighborhnood, just like you. It feels so good that lately more and more people here are becoming environmentally conscious, form groups and clean beaches and any other place covered in rubbish. I only wish the people who litter the environment more thoughtful.

I took my first big trip in the mid 70's to Greece. I remember Corinth as a beautiful, quiet place and Olympia as an amazing space with such an historic atmosphere. What an amazing waterfall - you are quite the adventurous couple.

You both have lived the life I have only dreamed about. I grew up with an adventurous set of parents then ended up with a homebody who pretended to love life. Now I'm stuck only wishing I could be experiencing new adventures. Happy life to you. Someone's gotta have fun right.

I love Greece. one of my favorite memories is traveling in the early 80s with my husband (now passed) in the mountains and stopping at a tiny grocery and just pointing (we didn't speak Greek)at some meat & cheese & bread to buy. we then had a picnic lunch enjoying our spectacular views. stunning country. thanks for the sweet memory.

Thank you for taking us to Peloponnese! I’m so thankful you included the Corinth canal. We didn’t go further than Corinth in our visit due to only 2 days, we stayed in Loutriaki (loved it by the way)! But have dreams of going back!!! Thank you! Excellent video as always! ~Cara

Gee I enjoyed this episode very much. That waterfall and swimming hole looked absolutely divine. Your videos are so well photographed with an interesting variety of camera viewpoints, smooth transitions and overhead drone photography. All beautifully edited and considered; they are a complete joy to watch. Such a respect for place in your attitudes and the way your travels unfold as well. Pure bliss. .

John and Tara, I am late watching this lovely vlog on The Peloponnese, but better late than never! This region is fascinating and although I have not visited it, the BBC’s Patrick Leigh Fermour / Benedict Allen programme on KZbin is a superb documentary of one of the great explorers. As you know he owned a house there and it is now a museum. It is featured in the film. John Humphrys, the former BBC Today presenter bought a house in that region and wrote a book. It is an interesting account of trying to rebuild a ruined house and the problems that occurred, which were many!

It is amazing how there is just such a lack of people around where ever you go! Where are all the locals? I can understand there being no tourists for all the obvious reasons. Enjoyable to have it so quiet I must admit. God Bless.

We have been so very fortunate on our travels during the pandemic, it has meant we have had nearly every place we have visited almost exclusively to ourselves. No doubt this is set to change, and we welcome that change for the sake of the folk who work in tourism and so desperately need their incomes and livelihoods to return. Thanks Hugh, have a great weekend.

@@TheNewbys Hang on a minute......why don´t you ask me the meaning of life instead! That´s a hard one between heart and mind but my soul says that I´m "home"when I/we go to Greece. The most romantic place is Corfu. It´s so blue that it hurt your eyes and the smell of pine & honey and I have never in my life felt so much life, in one small area like the British Cemetery in Corfu Town. Rhodes is our "homehome", and we have taken that, into our home here in Gothenburg, Sweden. We do collect ceramics from Rhodes so we are not very far from home!

Lovely vlog, I think we may visit there, thanks! I just don’t understand the litter mentality, we live in an historic town, first recording in history was 875 ! People come here because it is s pretty and the history etc. and every week we are out litter picking… argh! We also have links and lived in Australia for many years, they have signs and tv infomercials saying ‘Don’t be a tosser!’ And it works, there is shame in dropping litter there, the country is so clean.
