Hotu Matua is the older brother to Hotu Roa. Hotu Roa was the Captain of the Tainui Canoe that left Rapa Nui in search of another land to live in and following the Southern Cross Star Constellation bought them to New Zealand(Aoetearoa) The descendants of the Tainui Canoe are the Waikato people located on the west side of North Island in New Zealand.

I doubt I will ever make it to Easter ,if I did I would only leave when they made me. I hate technology absolutely hate it have no social media other then an email which is how I'm on here and I had to have it for work. I prefer to spend the nights gazing at the sky talking to god. You know why not everyone sees or hears god is because we take everything for granted I see god in the eyes of my dog when I walk in the house, that child at the supermarket that smiles when u see it, the Caterpillar on the leaf that's blowing in the wind that he put there just for you. It's amazing the things we miss everyday if I didn't have to work all I would do is gaze at the sky and just enjoy the time i have left. May gods blessings and good energy come to all who read this. Be safe and godspeed.

Man, I am 19 years old and already feel depressed bcs of the way we have to live. You have to study to get a job and spend your whole life working to earn just a living just to survive and then retire and die. I am ready to go to a far isolated island like Tristan du cunha or easter island and I am ready to work as a farmer there or whatever I can not to survive but just be isolated from all this stress and stuff
@sublimeguy
@sublimeguy 3 жыл бұрын
@@lifeofeslam1788 You can not let life stress you and believe me that's easy for me to say then to do. You are still young alot of life ahead of you, find somthing you will enjoy as a career it may take a few trys but there are alot of trades that pay well and no disrespect but the construction trade will be in high demand in a bit because the young people dont want to work in it I'm a welder/fabricator it pays well. Had I not been stupid with my money I would be well off today. And as far as welding goes eccently all you have to do is learn the trade companys will give you a test each job you start. Biggest thing is find somthing you enjoy, when you do you will not work your whole life you will play. That's not easy to do but it can be done. Good luck my friend and Godspeed.

Descendants of Polynesians, is there any record of language before Spanish?
@Jigachader
@Jigachader Күн бұрын
No written language except rongorongo which is yet to be deciphered. Originally thought that they invented written language after seeing dutch explorers read and write, but later its discovered that one of the symbols is a palm tree that went extinct before the dutch even found the island, so rapa nui is an isolated instance of written language discovery, very cool. Unforunately when the Europeans came so did disease and the population was basically devastated until the last literate person, likely a priest, died

Very interesting points of view, that first woman has. As far as the children go, they do that all over the world. Its not just on Easter island ( Rapa Nui ) unfortunately that’s same stuff happens In every country around the world! The most of the children don’t want anything todo with ancient teachings. Or any thing religion. It’s getting worst every year , it seems like there is no respect coming from the Millennials. They all seem to think the world owes them something . Most are very self centered.
@ZhangK71

There’s nothing wrong with stepping away from religion, nor does that link to “disrespect” or “being self-centered” lol. You just sound like the latest line of grumpy old people complaining about the new generation-just like your elders complained about you when you were young. 😂
@AvitalShtap
@AvitalShtap Ай бұрын
The milennials are now in their 30s :) the newest generation is generation alpha. Spreading indigenous teachings is very important and i hope you will find that many children would love to know this stuff, they just don't have the adults around them to patiently teach them about the old ways. "Youth were never more sawcie, yea never more savagely saucie" (1624, The Wise Man's Forecast), "Our sires' age was worse than our grandsires" (20 BC, Horace), "[Young people] are high-minded...They think they know everything" -Aristotle, 400BC

FACT: Easter Island IS NOT AN ISLAND! The locals would never know this. Easter Island is the apex of a mountain that rises over 6000 feet from the south pacific seabed floor. Just because the apex rises out of the mountain does not make it an island. You have to imagine, when you are visiting this Easter (Mountain) Island that you are walking on top of a mountain. It changes the entire perspective.

Hey. I heard and seen , one of the the park rangers on Rapa Nui where the statues are in a line like 15 I think , on a huge flat pedestal . That very rude park ranger named Philippe was yelling at the 2 tourists for stepping on a small rock barrier in the middle of the sight. He yell called names at them calling them stupid, being forceful , tried to push an with camera off a pile of rocks he was standing on in front of the gate trying to leave. What ever happened to that park ranger on Easter island? They have the video that I’m talking about on KZbin. There are a few copies of the disorderly park ranger floating around KZbin now. . That ranger needs to be fired . And should never be allow to work with any foreigners ever again. He apparently had a problem with the camera man and his girlfriend. I haven’t heard the out come. Of what happened to the park ranger ? And If he still works for the park services on Rapa Nui anymore ? I won’t ever schedule a trip to Easter island if that horrible ranger still has a job with the national Chilean, park .
