You have to vistit Regensburg on a couple sunny summerdays, it is something completly different. It is much like in an mediterranian city then, Regensburg is also famous for that.

@GeneralSchultz I love that town. I could sit at the wurstkuche all day and eat (if you could not tell from my bauch). Great town. I try to get people to go there and Bamberg when they head to Southern Germany/Bavaria. Two of my favorite cities in Germany. Thanks for the cool town!

Where would you suggest to look for a overnight accommodations? More reasonable outside of town or a nearby village? But where you can get into town with a bike?

Thanks for this - I've been trying to work out which are the best towns to do in Bavaria
@cantonius59457 жыл бұрын
Being so close to Regensburg, I have spent countless weekends there if I wasn't traveling. There is ALWAYS something going on in the warmer months. Maidult (spring fest, like a mini Oktoberfest and almost as long), a music festival in the Altstadt (Old City) in the Summer, and right now is Herbstdult (fall fest) which is the other bookend counterpart to Maidult, late Aug to early Sep, about 2 weeks. A few weeks before that, take the train down to Straubing for their festival. It's about half the size of Munich's Oktoberfest, and predates it. Plenty to do, and all kinds of options for rooms, including "FeWos" (HomeAway & AirBnB are just two examples.)

+Lee Myers (AskTrae) Once in a while there are floods on the Danube river and the two smaller rivers Regen and Naab, but in contrast to many other places which are in serious trouble, Regensburg is pretty safe even during century floods

The thing about the "Historische Wurstküche" is, that people may react hostile, if you call it that. You might want to try the dialect version "Wurstkogl" or "Wurstkochl" for it. :)

What a pointless video. Has the guy not realised that in a video he can show pictures of all the places he is talking about. I don't need a continuous shot of a guy standing on the waterfront telling us how "cool" it is.

There's no mass tourism problem in most of Germany. Really just a few big cities like Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, and places like Neuschwanstein castle. There is so much to see all over Germany, it's actually rather impressive how extensive tourism is just by Germans within the country.
