international forest temple It is Wat Pa Sai, Wat Nong Pa Phong. located in Ban Bung Wai Warin Chamrap District Ubon Ratchathani Province Founded in 1975 by Luang Pu Cha Suphatto (Phra Phothiyan Thera) from Wat Nong Pa Phong as the founder.
The reason and inspiration for building the temple was in the year 1967 that Phra Sumetho (currently known as Rajasumethajarn), an American, came to live with Luang Pu Cha for the first time. After that, more and more foreign monks gradually came to live with Luang Pu. In 1975, Wat Nong Pa Phong had both Thai and foreign monks. remember a large number of Firewood for alms giving is rare. Luang Pu Cha therefore allowed some foreign monks to Came out to find firewood at the Ban Bung Wai cemetery. where there are many trees, firewood is easy to find
Bung Wai villagers have faith in the monks of Wat Nong Pa Phong. Therefore invited the first group of monks and novices, comprising of 6 monks, to give alms to monks at the cemetery of Ban Bung Wai and Pak Klod. After staying for 3 days, the relatives helped to build a pavilion that was covered with grass to avoid the rain. After a while, the villagers of Bung Wai went to pay respect to Luang Pu Cha. Invite monks to stay in the Buddhist Lent. Reverend Grandfather Cha had mercy on him to build a monastery. and assigned Phra Ajarn Sumetho to be the head of the bureau The relatives shared their hosts to build a cubicle and thatched grass shed.
In the first rainy season, there were 10 monks and 1 white cloth. Later, in the year 1976, the Faculty of Faith, Kin Yom, brought Kathin to fry and built a new pavilion.
In the year 2528 B.E., began to build a vihara (Ubosot) at the location where the old parapet was found. for the monks to pray and do various rituals which was completed two years later.
B.E. 2530 has been announced as a Buddhist temple
Because foreign monks are increasing every year. The relatives therefore have faith in offering more land. At present (2015), the total area of the temple is 343 rai with 52 cloisters.
In 1993, a wall was built around the temple and a forest was planted instead of the abandoned hemp plantation. Now it has become a complete forest.
