We have the same culture in Belgrade. Mercato is called pijaca, pronounced piyatsa, similar to piazza. Piazza could be the root of pijaca. Each neighbourhood has their own.

​@@LocalAromas there are some Italian specialty food stores in the New York City and New Jersey area but that's about it as far as I know...also, all the products are obviously imported from Italy so they're too expensive to shop at regularly. thanks for the video!
