I am probably your newest subscriber. But yes as Adi will tell you India is not just the Taj. There is an India out there that is waiting to be discovered. My own recommendations.. Do Rajasthan . And yes not just its forts and palaces as those can be found at every turn. Try Ranthambore . Who knows you might see a big cat (Tiger ) , one you will never ever get to see in Europe since there are none there. And yes if you want to chill some from India's blazing summer heat head to Uttarakhand and Leh Ladakh. Places that are visually spectacular and moderate in terms of weather.

When she was giving birth to the 14th child, she died of excessive bleeding. Shaja broke this Hindu Mahalaya and named it Mumtaz Mahal by building a dome over it. It is now a disputed site in India .. take care, stay safe and blessed

The Myth is as you said is a myth. Shah Jahan didn't chop off the hands of the workers. Taj Mahal is a giant mausoleum. Mumtaz died giving birth to Shah Jahan's 14th kid. Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son in Agra Fort. Shah Jahan planned to build a similar Mahal but with complete black marbles/stones. But his coffers went dry. You see, when he was building the Taj, his kingdom faced severe droughts and famine. Thousands died. But he prioritized building Taj. That's why Indians in general don't have very sweet memories related to Mughals except Akbar. Akbar was a lenient and liberal Mughal King.

Taj Mahal in Hindi is MUKUT BHAVAN. The invaders used Indian wealth material and labour to build this in memory of Mumtaz who died after giving birth to 14th child. It is true that the artisans who created the designs and carvings had hands chopped, to stop them creating a similar building.
