The photograph hanging in the wall of Indira Gandhi is of her mother Kamala Nehru, not of Indira Gandhi's in his youth as told by the video maker. The earlier house was built in 1899 by Motilal Nehru. He donated that to the nation and named it Swaraj Bhavan in 1929- '30. He built the present house named it Anand Bhavan and moved there with his family. He died soon afterwards. After his death the house was inherited by his only son Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehruji willed it to his only child and daughter Indira Gandhi before his death in early '60s. In 1972, Indira Gandhi donated this house to the nation.
