I decided to visit Vinnytsia, Ukraine, recently for a quick weekend getaway from Kyiv. People had told me it wasn't a very ‘touristy’ city, but it consistently ranks as one of the best places to live in Ukraine. This was one of the few times I visited a new city without a strict agenda -- instead of having a to-do list that I had to rush through, I took the time to chill out and explore Vinnytsia how I wanted. I found all the rumors to be true - it really is a super nice city! And while there isn’t that much to do in Vinnytsia, it was easy to fill my weekend. There are even some things I didn’t have time to do or see. Of course, I did cross off probably the most touristic thing to see in Vinnytsia: the Roshen light and music fountain! Make sure you watch to the end to see some clips from the nightly show (and subscribe for more Ukraine adventures!).

What do you think of Vinnytsia?!

Hi 😊 Are you American-Ukrainian? I ask just because usually people from the west are not so interested in Ukraine, at least from my experience. I’m Ukrainian myself, and only went back to visit Ukraine once in the past 31 years. I’m planning to go back though, it’s beautiful there and inexpensive. Keep up the great work! Love your videos! @@user-wu2hc7tz8t Hi, Kiril! Nope, I don't have any Ukrainian heritage, and I didn't really know that much about Ukraine before I moved here. I ended up in Ukraine sort of accidentally -- I was only supposed to be here two months, and in total it's now been over 4 years! I think Ukraine is really underrated, which is part of the reason why I vlog and blog about it. I've had so many cool unique experiences here (and, like you mentioned, it's relatively affordable if you're a tourist coming from the EU/the USA/Canada/etc). Thank you for your kind words on my videos! I really appreciate them. :) Amy

Yes, artistically impressive and, viewed through the historical and cultural lens, definitely thought-provoking. Getting harder and harder to find, too, though I have a video about some of the ones you can find in Kyiv.

I live in Kyiv. I lived here 2016-2017 and then returned in the fall of 2019 to 'put down roots' for a bit. Little did I know... Mykolaiv is nice -- I went there summer 2020 and really enjoyed my visit.

Nooo, not necessarily. Vinnytsia is 'the most liveable city in Ukraine' (according to I forget who :) ). It is a really nice city, but I find most Ukrainian cities I've been too have their own unique personalities. :)

I really enjoyed it! So green -- and most importantly, so much space on the sidewalks! It felt very chill and relaxed for a city. It even made me start to wonder if it's time I give up 'big city life' in Kyiv. :)
