Although originally from Kent I live in Flintshire, North Wales and actually visited the castle back in 2012 with a couple of friends before it was open to the public (actually broke in technically through a ripped metal fence) and have a VERY scary encounter story there if you’re interested to hear :-)

I live in Rhuddlan (where we also have a beautiful castle) which is about 5 miles from Abergele just outside of Rhyl. The bridge here in the village was actually in 'Holiday On The Busses' where they crashed over the bridge into the river. The castle is beautiful as it's on the riverbank :-)

I actually used to live in Abergele (Recently moved) we lived within 30 minutes walk from the castle and we visited many times over the years. It's great to see the castle being put on the map and bringing new people in to see it, even if I'm a celebrity isn't filmed here, it's brought a lot of attention to the castle and the work being done by everyone to get it restored. Which has been an ongoing project for a long time.

Love this. If you are ever in the Netherlands, stay in the town of Valkenburg, it has a castle ruin, a massive cave system that you can visit by train going through it, a bobsled, a chairlift , a viewing tower and theres an amusementpark close by. Not the best, but it is there.

I thought it was castell castle it was on the signs in the teasers. Well it’s not looking good for I’m a celeb rn with lockdown in the uk starting again Thursday. And ayyy, your theme park worldwide i love your other channel. And if you forgot our seasons are swapped in the north hemisphere, in the Southern Hemisphere it would be summer in Australia. Henceforth, I think if this does gets delayed for COVID it will be better for the cast as they will be a bit warmer whilst outside as it’s winter when it’s supposed to be taking place, but summer in Australia. Then again, it is really all down to what the government say if it is allowed to go ahead, got my fingers crossed! Hope you had a great Halloween! 👻💀👽

Really good video, I know this is not Theme Park Worldwide, but if the London Resort is a theme park resort that opens in the future? Did suggest to them especially after I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here using this location about them maybe involving a rollercoaster? Either inside "The Isles" , "The Jungle" , "The Kingdom" or "The Studio" Themed around a castle ruin with a coaster themed around a jungle aswell I'm a Celeb itself? Featuring both Ant and Dec aswell maybe Holly in the preshow? Aswell inside the ride some of old bush tucker trial equipment? Making shown and on display in the queue line aswell at the entrance? Aswell could show many scenes around some of the trials both themed around this castle? The Australian jungle bridges and studio & more? But apart from this, never heard about this castle before, amazing structures. Be good if it could be fully restored like Leeds Castle in Kent, England UK. Featuring all restored rooms? Showing where everything once was, even the outside theatre & auditorium? Even feature re-enactments? If interested in visiting Leeds Castle in Maidstone for this channel? 100% recommend it, lovely castle attraction with many attractions. In the 70s this castle was open and you could go inside spent many hours as a child here. It has been left to rot and is now ruins but it was beautifully decorated with red carpets on the stairways and ornate windows, its such a shame to see it like this. We watched recreations of jousting tournaments and knights in armour fighting back then.. it is a lovely high spot on the coast and worth visiting even if it’s only ruins now.😀

I love Gwrych castle! I’m so happy that it is now being looked after and that restoration work is taking place. Myself and my other half went exploring at the castle a few years ago when it was still completely abandoned. I guess strictly speaking we were trespassing at that point, but we just thought it looked stunning and had to check it out! Got some amazing photos and we were the only people up there! I have to say it was bloody eerie when it was deserted though! 😂🏰👻

Shaun Dixon yes it has been open to the public for a while now, but when we went up there back in 2014, it wasn’t. At that time it was still very much abandoned and it was rumoured that it may be turned into a hotel. I’m just glad that the preservation trust got their hands on it because it’s such a beautiful castle and it deserves to be preserved

I'm ashamed to say i have never visited Castell Gwrych even though i live in Llandudno just ten miles or so away for the last 30 plus years and have driven past it possibly thousands of times, it's not possible to miss it when driving along the A55 north wales expressway. And Yes the German version of "I'm a Celebrity get me out of here" Is being filmed here in i think January 2021 after the ITV show ends filming. Great video of Castell Gwrych.

You need to see more of what Wales have to offer especially in Snowdonia you can tour an underground working power station where James Bond was filmed in Llanberis, take a train up Snowdon’s summit, go bouncing in the UK’s first and only underground gigantic trampoline in a slate cavern it’s in Blaenau-Ffestiniog and in South Wales there’s a mining museum in my home town of Blaenavon called Big Pit where you can go on a tour in the mine about 300 meters deep ohh and it’s FREE!! there’s loads to check out here

We used to go to North Wales a lot when I was a child, and I was absolutely obsessed with castles (well, I still am really). I'd insist on visiting one wherever we went, and I has the Michelin I-Spy book of castles so that I could tick them off when I'd visited. There was always this one castle that sat on the side of the hill between Rhyl and Llandudno on the coast road, and it wasn't in the book! My parents didn't know what it was, and I could never find out what it was or how to get there. Fast forwards 20 odd years and I'm telling this story to my wife as we drive past Gwrych castle, and within seconds she's found the website online, opening times and how much it costs to visit. Now in my defence, when I was a kid it was abandoned (and I was about 8 with no internet), but it was amazing to know that it was being saved and looked after. I need to go and visit for myself, but thank you for your video and igniting the fire in me for this amazing site once again.
