This is one of the first videos I've seen of Haiti where it's beautiful. Here in the states they tell us it's overrun by gangs, violence and everyone will rob you, even your paid guide. Thank You for showing this.

very beautiful. I'm sure part of the issue is just being able to transport the harvest all around the country. Hope to hear more about agriculture and small business along with your work :)

Absolutely Haiti can feed itself. It used to be self sufficient with food then neoliberal capitalism happened. The country was flooded with imports of food, already growing in fertile Haiti, from richer countries which destroyed the local food market and that was the beginning of the end. One day, better days will come again. Thank you for all your work Marie and your team.

I was born in Port-au-Prince and then adopted by Canadians in 1996 I lost my culture my history and family and was raised as a fish out of water in a foreign land. I yearn to go back to Haiti and have land to cultivate maybe a winery or something else food crops and animals. I don't belong in Canada life here looks nice on the outside but it's not. I will come back to Haiti one day build my own home

Marie. You know what I'm most curious about, the Chinese.? The Chinese can be found all over Africa offering to help them develop their infrastructure and assisting in other matters concerning some other issues their facing and we are also beginning to see the Chinese come into the Caribbean to places like Jamaica, Barbados, and smaller islands like Grenada. Why aren't the Chinese offering their technical skills in Haiti which could use machinery and tool in Agriculture. If the Chinese have the skill to feed over a billion people in a land that is neither tropical or sub-tropical I bet they can teach Haiti how to feed itself and have enough food to export to other countries, All Haiti is lacking is the tools and machinery, Haiti already has the human resources and knowledge of farming. Haiti still has some natural resources the Chinese might be interested in for a fair price, because the west is not being fair with Haiti best to work with the Russians and Chinese.
