*looks suchs a beautiful country, I would love travel Europe more but I have an irrational fear of driving in another country on the 'wrong' side of the road haha.*

As a Norwegian having visiting your type of "system" - living 2 years in the UK and driving all over New Zealand and (not all over but at least the eastern side of) Australia - it is not hard to switch sides. Continental Europe (including Scandinavia) has extremely systematic and predictable traffic patterns and rules (they go a bit happy go lucky in souther and eastern Europe). It was not driving in the left lines in Australia and NZ or India or Nepal that scared me. Boy did they (I do not know where you are from) drive randomly back in the 90s (showing up in car crash statistics (back then) - of course helped with very liberal ideas on how intoxicated you dudes could be. We are so used to half the world renting or taking their own van up here to our narrow and slow roads already that road rage has all but disappeared up here outside of metropolitan areas (being 1% of Norway). In terms of easy places to drive a car as a foreigner - Germany is #1. That is one nation of fantastic average "traffic understanding". Denmark/Sweden is #2. Norway is #3 - probably alongside Switzerland and Netherlands and Belgium. France drops a bit (because of intoxication during evenings). The UK - I did not like to drive there after dark especially in rural areas. There was a lot of people popping back home after a few pints - just like in New Zealand - and there were a lot of teens around in old cars thinking they were soon ready to get picked up by a rally team and earn 10 million from skills they really did not have. Getting a rental car in the UK/Australia/NZ - all in big cities - it takes around 30 minutes to get used to not being in the right line. It takes a little more time and concentration when lots of roundabouts are occurring. But especially if you consider a camper-van - just stick to the "slow lane" and follow that 18-wheeler. And here is a fantastic tip for Europe. Inter-Rail. Boy is that an awesome idea. It is not fantastic for Norway (we have a lot of topography and terrain that is train unfriendly). Go train hopping. I have been doing that since the mid 80s. And trust me - I did not have online booking of hostels back then. Going through the "iron curtain" to beautiful Prague (that now is overloaded with tourists, sadly) back in the 80s - I literally got a room from a fellow passenger. In Lyon, France - I ended up in a brothel (well - they rented out rooms per 30 minutes tarrifls - it was noisy at least until 4 am. Go on a journey my friend. Mix it up. You will drive just fine here in Norway. Dowtown Rome - do not start with that traffic pattern maybe. Take the train if you feel unsure. Even take the train into Amsterdam if you feel unsure about handleling all the pedestrians and the cyclists - there are trains for that. Our brains fix the left-right thingy within minutes when the system is simple
