it is very correct and good of you to pronounce our country's name as "Türkiye" instead of Turkey, it needs to be adopted by everyone... 💖🇹🇷💖
@dilara92432 жыл бұрын
@Hibah yes, i am on the same page with you and this situation is the same for Turkish ones as well since the usage of the word Turkey has been adopted in this way, unfortunately.

I can understand that you do not want your country to be confused with a Thanksgiving meal, but I find it problematic if a country wants to change its name in another language than its own. We saw that a lot with cities. Peking wants to be called "Beijing" in English, Bombay wants us to use the Indian name "Mumbai" in English and now Bangkok wants to be called "Krung Thep" in English. Where does that end? Should countries and cities now decide their names in all languages of the world or is that just about English, because it is the world language? "Türkiye" does not really sound like an English word. You can't pronounce it until your hear someone else pronounce it. And why should we use the Turkish name in English? That is not done with most countries. We call Nippon "Japan" for example. Suomi is called "Finland" in English. The most controversial English names of countries may be "North Korea" and "South Korea". Those two countries both see themselves each as the only Korean state, but basically all other countries add "North" and "South" to their names, which indicates, that those are only half countries. They want their official English names to be "Democratic People's Republic of Korea" and "Republic of Korea", but those names are only used in formal situations and not really adopted by the public. You probably also call those countries "South Korea" and "North Korea".

I was told this was just a tv tower by the locals! If i knew i would of visited it in my recent visit just 2 weeks ago. i heavily researched places to visit in istanbul and i came across no information about this place. They need to promote it everywhere. People do not know about it. I even stayed a few days on the Asia side very very close to it. Very weird. Thanks for the video.

I pretty much hate it when tourists have to pay a higher entrance fee. Of course the idea is that buildings like that are paid by the taxpayers, but tourists actually pay a lot of taxes in the short time they visit a city. It does not really feel welcoming to have a surcharge for tourists. However even entry fee of 200 Lira for tourists is extremely cheap for an observation tower. Visiting the TV Tower in Berlin costs about 2.7 times that price. And that even for locals.

And that’s the reason why there’re 0 mass graves have been found so far in all former lands of the empire including Anatolia????? Only uneducated bias people who follows popular ideas and moves rather than asking proper questions will make a statement like that. But it’s ok if everyone in the world was smart and logical then it wouldn’t have been fun. If you wonder how to make others laugh at you for what you say then I applaud you because you managed to do that with a fake news written with multiple spelling errors.

@bilbobaggins87942 жыл бұрын
@@johncruise907 There were millions of dead Turks in Anatolia after WW1, but we don't claim any genocide or anything. Because any person with straight mind and EDUCATION would know that deaths can happen for many reasons, such as pandemic that spread much quicker because of the war. Don't forget that Armenians revolted against Ottomans, so there were an actual war between them too. But it is easier for you, an UNEDUCATED BIASED PERSON, to make such claims without even understanding the region and the people so, I understand your point of view.
