Visiting Takis Dog Shelter Crete w/ 500+ Rescued Dogs Up For Adoption

Takis Shelter in Crete is a unique dog shelter where over 700 rescued, stray, and abandoned animals have already been adopted takisshelter.org. Currently over 500 dogs live on 50,000 square meters of private, enclosed, olive tree groves where they are free to run around. Shelter founder Theoklitos Proestakis left a successful career to create the no kill shelter, where dogs, cats and goats live in peace while getting healthy and ideally finding new homes and owners either in Greece or other parts of Europe. Every day, international visitors and tourists visit the shelter to spend time with the animals. The shelter relies solely on donations. Help support this great work at takisshelter.org/donate
