I was one of the kids at Cranborne Middle School! They were adding the medieval barn when I left.

Here in Lincolnshire I have the pleasure of knowing a couple who have built a Saxon house in their garden and invite schools etc. to visit. They even dress as Saxons during such visits. Much better to experience the real thing in addition to reading in a classroom!

I would love to be able to just retire and become a volunteer to keep this place up for future students/educators/experiencers.

What an absolutely wonderful place. Not only are our modern generations learning what life must have been like during ancient times, but more importantly, I think, is preserving and carrying forth precious knowledge hard-won over thousands of years. These battles against nature should always be remembered, exercised, and revered.

Those kids who moved that rock are badasses. Our schools should be so lucky.
