Hey thanks for visiting and posting. TST does fantastic work fighting for religious freedom in our country. I feel like you should have highlighted their tenants a bit more (given the religious zealotry of our nation) and maybe have done a bit more research before commenting and presenting the art, TST uses art and alot of counter culture imagery to make pointed statements. It's not a about worship or them idolizing some diety. TST is atheistic, the fear expressed by people who have visceral reactions to any deity that doesn't belong to their specific religion or imagery of their religions "bad guys" is (IMHO) part of point of the works of art. Like reading some of the comments here of ppl saying they're too creeped out and scared to visit a building is......... Baffling. It's a building. It doesn't soak up vibes or whatever. You're not going to burst into fire or become possessed. Ditto for the statues. I love the baphomet statue, he's cute, and once you read the plaques he's actually inspiring. People simply view it in a lense of "they chose the name of our greatest evil, anything representing that is fighting us" they'll often react the same way if any other religions iconography symbols get put into the mainstream media diet, they see it as an attack against them when it's not. Freedom of religion means that everyone ought to feel free and comfortable to outwardly practice their faith or lack there of. I highly encourage anybody to actually check out TST and it's tenants, they're not about promoting the worship of Satan in any way, shape or form. They do good work, they give to many charities, they promote education, compassion, humanity, peace, love and understanding, but mostly they try to fight any religious encroachment in our public sectors. They fight to uphold the first amendment.

The Satanic Temple is not about demons or evil....the followers do not believe in any gods, devils or supernatural phenomenon. They use the name Satan in a purely literary context and see him as a fictional character who opposed tyranny and authoritarianism. Their 7 tenets are fascinating and not dark in any way. As an esoteric mystic that resides in MA I'm surprised I haven't heard of this until now. I'll have to pay it a visit. Some of those paintings seem to be from one of my favorite artist Nonna Limmen. I would also like to point out that Satan is a recent addition to Christianity taking place in 200AD along with the book of revelation etc. This is a documented historical event, prior to that Christians didn't believe or even know what a "Hell" or "Satan" was. All souls went to a place called the Shades, this is where all souls waited until Christ would be resurrected and would raise all the Christians up as well and reform Earth into Heaven. There wasn't even a heaven in the sky or after life, everything would be done after Christ returned. It's so fascinating to know this about the religion and have seen and read these ancient scriptures in museums etc personally and see the confidence in modern Christians that they are practicing Christianity when in truth based on how far the religion has deviated from the original scriptures and thinking process they may as well be following a completely different religion. It is Christianity ONLY by name. It's also important to point out most "Demons" as they are called by Christians are old pagan gods the Church deliberately tried to get rid of. If you look up any "demons" name and then put "pagan god" after it you'll see the actual historical figure.
