Even though I'm really liking this series, the main takeaway I'm getting from it is that those UAE parks are so lifeless and don't have any personality or uniqueness, even though you visited UAE at the peak season almost all of the parks you've shown are empty... Yes, you can have the fastest coaster and very different rides, but the rest of it just seems artificial, even the locations other than the theme parks look that way
@kristophernekula51517 ай бұрын
This is what I think Six Flags Qiddiya will be if it ever opens. Yes, they will have Falcon's Flight and Transformers, but I think it will be as empty as these UAE parks are.

All theme parks are artificial - what brings them to life is the people and the activity. Those parks in the UAE are practically empty so there's no life in them at all.

Yep, Legoland Billund (Denmark) does have a coaster with a drop track; Polar X-plorer
@drdewott91547 ай бұрын
Really neat vlog. And yeah it is Denmark that has the Legoland with a drop track roller coaster. Legoland Billund is actually the oldest Legoland in the world, and for good reason. Lego was invented in the town of Billund, Denmark and they still have their HQ there to this day. Plus other attractions like the LEGO HOUSE which is like an interactive museum, you'd love it. Legoland Billund is without a doubt also the most unique park in the whole chain, they have a ton of unique rides you wont find at any other Legoland, even a few thrill rides like what Sarah says she wants. Like at most Legolands, the Dragon roller coaster is a clone of that exact Zierer layout, but not in Billund, there its a custom Mack Powered coaster in the terrain. Plus a ton of unique dark rides, robot arms, a rapids with a huge drop, and just a lot of uniqueness. I could see them add a new roller coaster like the wing coaster that went to Germany. Their last new coaster was in 2018 and they usually add one every 5-10 years since the 1990's. TLDR: Highly reccomend that you stop by Billund for a day or 2 next time you're in Denmark. Also those gardens damn. Pretty impressive. Apart from the nightmare big teeth Genie.

Both Legoland and Miracle Garden are such beautiful parks with a lot of regional influence instead of just copying Western parks. And the hotel village also looked awesome. There should be a monorail connecting all parks and key resorts. Because everything is better with a monorail!

@drdewott91547 ай бұрын
Yeah theyve gone with this Zierer layout a LOT the Force 5, I think ever since Legoland Deutschland opened in like 2002. The only Dragons that are different afaik are Billund and Windsor (Denmark and Great Britain) cause they opened theirs in the 1990's, and Legoland Florida since they converted Cyprus Gardens into Legoland and reused their existing roller coasters and modified their old Vekoma off the shelf clone into the Dragon.

Heres the answer as a dubai resident. Everyone goes to global village and miracle garden because we value a cheap price and a good time. Both global villlage and miracle garden easily provide a day worth of enjoyment for incredibly less and without ride experiences (which locals, mainly adults are fine without), leaving genuine good ride line up parks like IMG, motiongate, lego land, and real madrid world completley empty. just an extra rant: coaster enthusiasts classify doing research as looking at the parks with a nice ride lineup and going "yeah all parks in dubai are empty" when places of dubai like the burj khalifa, dubai marine, JBR, global village, and miracle garden are clearly places that are packed. As arabs, we don't get slack or genuine curiosity for our parks being empty, people just falsely label it as 'seems shady' because in the media we're always portrayed as the bad. Japan's parks are all empty and people are acting like that's a cool and quirky social thing just for Japan. Honestly people, get some real sources and stop generalizing our parks.
@matthewl54347 ай бұрын
@@fadbob_ Would also assume that it's quite hot during the day, giving even less justification to going to a dry park, but more for a water park. I remember in the first (or one of the first) episodes at that water park it was decently busy from what I could tell.

UAE seems to go to great lengths and spends obscene amounts of money to build places that nobody goes to. It's like UAE is the Tryhard capital of the world or something. With few exceptions, that is the general vibe I'm getting from this adventure. Lots of these locations leave me with a freaky mixed sense of desolate sadness and gawdy hilarity.
@fadbob_7 ай бұрын
If you build for the community, you'll end up being mundane, never pushing further than what the market advises you to be. If you build because you think it's a kickass idea and you have tons of oil money, and don't care about it being empty, it's better for the amusement industry as a whole, since you'll be constantly pushing manufactures out their comfort zone. Mission ferrari, Falcon's flight, hypersphere 360, formula rossa, are all attractions built because why the hell not, we have the money, and everyone will be shocked. And as a result, we see manufacturers get knocked out of their seats to innovate. So sure, you can think of it as desolate sadness, but you can also think of these crazy empty theme parks as a show that humanity still wants to build something out of pure passion to go beyond, and not for monetary gain.
@rabooey7 ай бұрын
@@fadbob_ If you truly believe that people spend enormous amounts of money on amusement parks because they want to push coaster/ride technology more than they want to turn a profit, I'm afraid we can't meet on level ground in any discussion about what we're witnessing. Personally, I go to parks not just for the rides but for the shared fun and excitement in everything that parks offer as a whole. What I'm witnessing, overall, on this UAE parks/attractions tour is so completely and bizarrely opposite that I almost can't fathom it, regardless of how great/fun/beautiful some of the rides and attractions actually are.

Yeah. And like, one of the few places they did build the metro was already along the main highway, but like, make it run more often, and please extend the system! Build more lines and extend the existing one to Dubai Parks and Resorts! The taxis may be subsidised in Dubai but I still ended up wasting 20 Dirham and 40 minutes at nonstop gridlock for just half a mile in the taxi going back from Motiongate to the Marina. Just, all this car dependency aint working for you Dubai. It doesnt work there, it doesnt work in Florida, you need good mass transit for any big city but especially one with large scale tourism!

Some of the comments and replies here absolutely sad. The image of Dubai and the gulf has been completley destroyed by the imagery of arabs as the bad guys and people are eager to bash this region. People are going as far to label this series as paid by the gulf governments when they're clearly rightfully making critisisms. I'm starting to think people hate hearing good things to say about the UAE. Want more? Here you go: You know what other region has major political and societal issues on the level of the gulf? Poland. Did you know poland is much bigger than the UAE? YET, by sheer coincidence, you never see anyone commenting about dystopia, or needing to mention their various human rights violations in a video about ENERGYLANDIA. This kind of vague almost uncombatable selective racism to only bash arab countires is exactly why even if we solve our actual political issues here in the gulf, nobody visits. And it's not like the achievments made in places like Saudi to start appealing to the more ethical, western standards for human rights are going noticed, because people NEVER want to admit that we're trying to imporve. Its bash, bash, bash, "erm whens the next coasting through, i don't like you being here", "enjoy the innovative attractions all you want but...", "why is it so [insert problem that they don't fully understand actually non shady the reason for]" Please, give your critiques some breathing room, some "hey well at least they're", or "well I can cut them some slack because of", instead of endless, non-constructive and cultural-hate induced bashing.
