Been here in 2007. It’s a beautiful country with extremely happy and friendly people. May be now the situation economically isn’t good in the present times. As they are poor, they probably don't consume much of package food and also don't have consumerist throw-away culture of culture of rich countries. I am in India. I live in semi rural area were there are lots of plastic waste because of ppl consuming lots of package food like wai wai, chips. But a nearby village is poor and they don't consume these package food and their surrounding is clean. There is no restaurant around. Village ppl just eat their home-cooked food.

Every pole on a flyover there is paan stain, every railway station wall has paan stains.. it's so disgusting you don't know.. when your friends from these poor countries visit India and when they comment you will understand. All kinds of shit you can find on the roads.and That is my problem, I hope you can understand what I am trying to say. My friends from Indonesia, srilanka, Philippines have a nice experience in India but their first impression was a man taking a bath on the street,a big pile of shit in the middle of the road, all kinds of litter on the roads, simple signboard on the shops broken and etc etc... This is our reality.... Indians should stop spitting in public places..if humans cannot keep the streets clean why blame a domestic animal for littering on the roads..
