You can really tell how much work went into making the blanket when you had all the squares stacked up! The colour combination is so peaceful to look at...very pretty!! Yay another sashiko project! I love everything you make. This blanket included. I often wonder why you use such a long thread when you sew. I do sashiko stitching, embroidery, etc. I never use an extremely long thread. it takes more time to detangle it at every stitch.

For some reason, granny squares never appealed to me, but seeing yours (I guess it's the colors) makes me want to try crocheting one day. And you gave me another idea. I think I'll attach it to a blanket I purchased at a thrift store. Some blankets need weight to keep warm. I love watching your videos. Q: I bought a bunch of wool threads. What do you do with yours?
@kikosabi3 күн бұрын
I think that's a great idea! The granny square blanket isn't super heavy but its got some weight to it so I think it will be extra nice and warm attached to a another blanket! I have 2 books? I think that uses wool threads for embroidery...so I use them for that and other craft projects. The video I released a few weeks ago where I made a teapot trivet , I used the wool threads to finish the edges. 😊

Also one more question. Can you tell me how you organize your embroidery thread? I can't seem to make rhyme or reason out of the numbers given to the colors. They don't seem to go along with the color scheme. And I will see white in a low number and than another white in the 3 thousands. I am trying to organize and am giving up lol. Any advice would help !! Thank you :)
