Visual Diary | A Summer Day of Sewing | Sewing New Linen Skirt with My New Serger

Hello! Hope you're having a beautiful summer day so far! In this vlog, I spent the day with my sewing machine and new serger! I found a really nice cotton linen fabric that I wanted to sew with and made a long skirt. It was a very simple design but something that I would wear often. I hope to sew more clothes in the future! The serger is my very first one and its something I've been wanting for a long time. I'm very happy to share this experience with you all! 😊 At the end of the day I did a little bit of crocheting as well, continuing my granny squares. Thank you Kiko, Wow what a great video this morning. :). I was so impressed with your new serger. What a great help it will make to your dress making. I only have a basic machine and tend to do a lot of hand stitching on hems etc. However, I can see why one would be great to use. Your skirt looked lovely. I look forward to seeing what you make in the future. I can appreciate that the your Etsy store just became all consuming. However, one needs to be sure to enjoy life as we go through it. I love all my crafts but think it is in part due to only doing what I enjoy and at a time I enjoy doing them. I know if I did any of them for a living then the enjoyment would wane for me. Thank you very much for watching! I love linen too! It's not easy for me to find linen clothes and when I do, they are quite expensive. Luckily linen fabrics are much easier to find and price is reasonable so I'll be sewing more clothes in the future. Yes the sound of sewing machine is very therapeutic!❤️

Lovely skirt. I always thought sergers would be hard to thread but you managed easily.

Thank you very much for watching! The serger came threaded with white threads so I just connect them with my black threads and pull out the white ones. It does look a little complicated but the instructions provided are pretty clear with pictures 😊

Thank you very much for watching! 😊 I don't really have a recipe that I follow. For the filling, I just use whatever I have at the moment. (This time I used some leftover ham in the fridge and half of a yellow onion and bell pepper) I used 1 puff pastry for my 12 cup muffin pan, and roughly 20-25 tater tots. Everything seasoned with salt and pepper. A small handful of shredded cheese each cup. I used 4 medium sized eggs and roughly 4-5 tablespoons of almond milk. I baked it at 350F till the puff pastry is nice and puffy. (Sorry I didn't time how long it took...probably around 20mins?)
