if you have visual Studio 2015 go-to tools menu and then open Extension and Updates once the windows open you will find three categories in the left panel click on online and in the search bar type unity and click enter then install the first result VS 2015 Tolls for Unity it's about 12Mb after you finish continue the rest steps in the video from min 2:23

VS for Mac doesn't have a similar option - instead, everything is included by default. If you're having IntelliSense issues in VS for Mac, best to use the Help > Report a Problem menu and document the issue. But first, try updating using the Visual Studio > Check for Updates menu. Many issues are fixed in the latest versions. For Unity 2020+, make sure that the Visual Studio Editor package is updated too. Unity Editor > Window > Package Manager.

Hey so I have a weird problem. When I create a script that inherits from something else than monobehavior (like one that inherits from Editor) intellisense doesn't work with the methods specific to that inheritance, even though normally it works just fine. Anyone has an idea of how to fix that?

To those, who still have the issue. Guys, change the External Tools in Unity to Visual Studio Code (not community) and simply install the Unity extension pack in VS Code (will autosuggest). It is much better. Life changer. Better IDE. You will save yourself both time and struggle.

Thanks it worked :) In my case the checkbox was actually checked. in tools and features. After unchecking it and checking it again it downloaded and installed. I initially installed unity and visual studio via unityhub. You can also recognize that it works because the solution explorer shows references and assets.

If you still have this problem, try this: double-click the script. After VS being opened, right-click on you solution and click in "Reload project with dependencies". It worked for me.

For me everything is already done still not working. Solved. Just deleted by script and created it again now its working. Previously it was showing Miscellaneous in tab above the code space. Now its showing Assembly-CSharp and autocomplete is working.

THANKS BRO. I was following a tutorial and i noticed when i type "Debug" it never turned cyan like the one in the tutorial. Even though i did went into "tools and feature" and checked the unity pack and installed before watching this vid. But thanks to this vid, i realized my problem was i had to go into unity and going into preference to set the external tool to Visual Studios. As soon as that was done everything was working fine. Hello Raja, Can you please make a tutorial on unlocking/locking levels and how collecting stars can show up in the levels menu page? For example, if 3 stars are earned, it shows 3 stars on the level select icon. Something like this is not readily available on KZbin and I'm sure would help out TONES of people making games. Coming back from a 1.5 year break from GameDev and im immediately faced with a specific issue; The namespace for UnityEngine.UI throws an error. As such, i don't get autocomplete for any UI code (despite it running fine in unity) and by extension, it makes everything UI related create a false error on that line meaning that i have to tab out and rely on the unity console to debug stuff because visual studio doesn't know whats happening. I am yet to find a solution but in the Solution Explorer in VisualStudio it says that the UnityEditor.UI assembly is "incompatible". Any thoughts?
