I was using visualization today on my hill repeats in -33°C. I was visualizing 500m on my watch and just doing one more hill. Then I ended up doing 750m of elevation. I gave myself permission to quit at anytime and I just kept going.

Coach Eric, do you know what happened with your short video playlist of the exercises from BtR2 book? I had them and now they are gone, doing the program for the 90 days run free, and it really helps me do along.

Brilliant, Coach. Every time I crest the ridge where a mountain lion and I stared each other down in Weaver Gulch in Dec. 2016, I pray aloud: “Yá’áh’tééh abíni, Násh’dóít’sóh - Áa’dáa’ahól’yáá.” Shortened version of a prayer learned from Navajo Nation elder Harry Goldtooth. “Good morning, One Who Comes Silently. Take care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.” Because we played chicken facing each other on that trail, called the Wild Turkey Trail, and managed to deescalate. Haven’t seen her since in the flesh, but her tracks just this morning in the fresh snow. I visualize her for sure.

Stunning video Coach Eric, as a (marine) biologist I love the animal spotting in your videos! =) What’s the best way to change muscle imbalance with your protocol? Do more reps on the weak side (my left leg) or same number of reps both sides regardless of imbalance in muscle strength? Off for a run in the newly fallen snow in Sweden now! Thanks for all the great advice and videos!

I think Imbalances start first with training the feet and then progressing to my strength skills. I always list these in the video description.

Perfect, I’m already doing all the foot core exercises, 100 up and wall squats etc in Born to Run 2. So always the same reps/effort on both sides regardless of any imbalances and they’ll even out over time? Thanks again for the advice!

That looks like perfect conditions for black ice, how do you avoid it? I would also need an extremely visible running vest & some lights.

No traffic and not much ice. Our climate is very cold, dry, low humidity, therefore not very icy. But this road can get slick. We just had another storm with a lot of snow, which will make all running conditions much better than they have been. Thanks for watching and run strong.

Hi Eric, Question about sizing for the Mesa Trail 2 Born to Run Shoe. I wear the following sizes in these brands… -Brooks - Men’s 12 -ASICS - Men’s 12 -Saucony - Men’s 12 -Nike - Men’s 11.5 -Hoka - Men’s 11.5 -Salomon - Men’s 12 In your opinion, should I go with 11.5 or 12 with the Xero shoes?
@BornToRunCoach
@BornToRunCoach 8 ай бұрын
Good question. The only shoe we have in common is the Salomon. I am a size 11 in salomon and run in 10.5 Xero Mesa. So I think you should stick with a 11.5. Hope that helps.

@@trainwellracewell they are minimal, but feel great. So a little goes a long way. But this type of strength run is super potent strength and will help for all the longer fun runs.
