Beautifully presented and very concise information that absolutely reflects my own experience with translation / transcreation / localisation and AI. However, I would like to add an important point that I've found while working with AI, which is that sometimes AI actually gets things a little wrong or for example, if you ask it to localise a US text for the UK market, it doesn't always get every aspect quite right... and this is where the importance of checking it (and staying one step ahead) comes in. I've often had to prompt it on a part of its reponse "Are you sure that xxx applies to the UK too?" And it often apologises and says, "you're right, this part does not in fact apply" and then comes up with an alternative, which you can ask it to re-write into the whole paragraph. It's actually quite fun in many ways! I love that I can actually question it and it will either defend its answer or correct it. But this does emphasise the fact that we do still need to be reasonably sure of the answer it's giving us, and cross check anything we are not quite sure whether it has got right or not. Here I'll use it mainly for inspiraiton in maybe a paragraph I'm stuck on, and it really can help get me back in the flow of my writing. I'll also use is in my research for an article I'm writing. It's no substitute but it's a wonderful tool to use to ultimately fine tune parts we can bring into our work. I'm a fan!

Thanks for your comment! We agree with you, content created or translated by AI is not 100% good so humans are still needed to be in the loop to deliver something really good and natural

I think you two need to research a little more about the initials consideration by the federal government about AI. AI could be just another tool. The interpretation and translation field is not affected yet by AI, I see you are having this conversation here because of your upcoming class. Please read the regulations and how a committee is working on the recommendations to guide the federal government on this matters. About the industry we deal with humans and doctors, lawyers and others professionals trust on our professional jobs. think on the liabilities. I think you are thinking ahead without really knowing the future of AI regulations. All you said here is just your opinion and you have that right.
