AA516: Awesome video. Coming back because I forgot to comment. I just got it working (mostly) with an Xbox controller input and FlightGear visualizations, and it is so much fun to fly around! Though I crash into the ocean quite often

Unfortunately our model doesn't have an earth model to simulate the crash but you can easily add some code to check if the altitude is less than 0 then you can stop the time.

Hi Chris, I can proudly say to have arrived at the end of the flight mechanics series and I have successfully implemented my non-linear 6DOF dynamic model of an aircraft with the joystick in the loop. You literally taught me how to fly, now it's time to enhance the flight physics and add some extra features on my own. Thanks again for your guidance, it was truly priceless. Before leaving, I would ask you a thing. I noticed that in your flight simulation in flightgear the propeller is not rotating and the instruments do not respond (it happens to mine as well). Do you know how to figure out this issue?

Is the altitude variable AGL or ASL ? Either way, how do you get your airplane to start on the ground instead of in at an arbitrary altitude ? I guess you could look up what the altitude is at the desired airport and initialize the interface component with that ?

Hi Sir, First of all I would like to thank you for your benefical videos. I would like to ask your help . I understand your all cideos but whenever ı tried to model another aircraft on Matlab Simulink. Actually I couldn' t :) I had lots of problems about it even I couldn't control the thrust of engine and etc. Is it possible to show us for example how to model Predator UAVs or give us some instructure about the modelling motion of the predetor?

AA-516 Hi professor, when I double click the batch file and before I press play in Simulink, the Honolulu terrain is visible while the simulation is paused and waiting to start. But as soon as I click play in Simulink the terrain disappears and everything just looks like clouds. Do you have any ideas for how to solve this?

Nevermind, I realized that the new version of Flightgear uses Keflavik, Iceland as the default airport so once I changed the coordinates to there, the scenery showed up. On another note, do you know how to changed the airplane that we see in Flightgear? I want to show a 757-200 instead of a Cessna 172 so I downloaded the aircraft and copied the files into the C:\Program Files\FlightGear 2020.3.6\data\Aircraft directory and changed the geometry model name in the generate run script block but it's not able to load the 757. Do you have any suggestions?

@@jaziebart I haven't played too much with other aircraft, it should be similar to what I outline in the video, did you get it to work?

@@ChristopherLum It appears that some aircraft work and others don't. The 747-400 and 767-300 are two that I've found to work and I just downloaded those aircraft and copied them into the program files aircraft directory. I'm not sure why it isn't able to find the 757 when I do the same. Not a big deal though
