While I love this video completely. I do hold issue with the whole "Can't love someone else until you love yourself" troupe. It's very toxic. And I know that isn't your intention but as someone who has learned to love myself because I was with someone who helped me see all the good and beauty in me. I still have days where I can't even look in the mirror but everyone does. And that isn't a criticism on you but society because society and media tell us this all the time. And I wish it weren't the case because sometimes we need help loving ourselves and that is perfectly acceptable.

While it's true that many ultimately are helped along the path it changes nothing of the truth of the statement. One who does not love themselves can only grow resentment towards someone, as they will imprint all their subconscious and conscious insecurities and self loathing onto their perception of how others see them. Many will not be able to believe they are loved or even cared for, that others are lying to get something from them, merely patronizing them, or even that they are simply foolish for being unable to see everything that they see in their own self. Until this hurdle can be overcome, no bond of trust can be formed. If one sees no way to love themselves, how can one ever truly believe someone else actually can? The only path left then is stagnation and eventually strife, leaving any initial feelings of love to wither away as merely a fleeting thought. Love can't grow without trust, and one can't trust an other's love unless they know it for themself.
