People often dismiss such dangers until either they or someone they know, experience it themselves. So front loading the issue and being open with it drives that reality home. In other words, an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. But more to your point, we should definitely question the wisdom of progress.

@midi5467 Very true, even just due to the way these digital neural networks operate and are trained it's extremely difficult to comprehend or follow the way they act A bit like how youtube itself doesn't know exactly how its algorithm chooses videos to promote and such, they just let an algorithm develop itself on statistics until they lost track of what it's even doing This sorta thing may be alright in cases like entertainment media or the likes but when it comes to AIs that genuinely can affect people this sorta negligence is just unacceptable

When I created my current channel a year ago, I made sure it was voiceless and faceless. Being young (17) I don't want to have my face all over the internet. I don't have a Facebook, Instagram account with my face. I have no images online, and I respect everyone who does this too. Protect yourself, you can never be too safe online. This video really made my realize that AI is not the future to technology, It will slowly corrupt humans and the way we function and think, its utterly dangerous and has to stop.

Replika is... it's something. I've used it and the voices are very.... fake and you can't provide custom voices like some other platforms. So, that's safer. It's a conversation turn off. Personally, listening to the voice ruined any chance of me relying on it as a human companion, thankfully. They also forget a lot of things and it takes a lot of talking (teaching) to correct the behaviors you don't want. There are... a lot of other problems with it. So, in theory, it could replicate people and become companions. In reality.... they aren't very convincing. These AI companions also react VERY heavily to your input (both descriptions and responses in conversation,) since that's how they learn. If you teach them to be nice, then they should be nice. Teach them to be mean, same thing.

Any crime commited "with an LLM's influence" is misinformation, it's obvious to anyone who's used a chatbot, they're too dumb and robotic so far to manipulate a human. All those crimes/self-harm were 100% on the humans.

Hmmm….this reminds me. My favorite novelist is Tom Clancy, who made his mark on American literature with his classic Hunt For Red October. Lately, I turned on to a husband and wife team, James Rosone and Miranda Watson, who have been doing an outstanding job following in his footsteps, writing just as exciting novels in his format but with science fiction. James is a brother disabled veteran like myself, who turned to writing military techno thrillers like Tom Clancy’s to deal with his issues like PTSD. That being said, it relates to this topic due to their last series called Monroe Doctrine, which paints a scenario of Red China developing a very advanced AI called Jade Dragon that they use to start and wage a war against the world in a bid to dominate the world. I too think AI is creepy. It's a dangerous thing. Edit: Also this face recognition is really pushing our privacy. I seen a video talking about the grocery store Kroger was installing face recognition at the entrance and all the information that's been collected on people throughout the years you'll be charged for groceries by what information comes back from yhe face recognition. It wss said depending on your shopping habits and where you shop at you will be charged accordingly. Supposedly they have digital pricing on the shelves that can be changed remotely. I used to hope AI was a supplemental tool. It still is in certain sectors, but money speaks and it’s evolved into something pretty dangerous.
