You are the true digi destined GOAT. This mod is soo cool and I wish I was in better touch with the overall community to have contributed to the kick starter. This looks so cool and a breathe of fresh air after Bandai messed up the English X2 release.

As you addressed in the beginning, one of the big reasons I haven’t pulled the trigger on any version of the VB yet is that I have a smart watch. It was a gift, one someone spent a lot of money on, and I’m not going to shaft it for the VB/Digivice V. Especially when my watch tracks my fitness better and the VB concept, while fun, has not lived up to its full potential yet. They’re getting closer with every new version, the BE is close, but still not enough for me to even consider using it instead of my smart watch or double wristing. Things like this from the community make it to where I can still enjoy the experience without having to make unnecessary sacrifices. I hope one day Bandai explores allowing mobile devices and smart watches themselves to act as v-pets. Not to replace the v-pet model itself, but just for those that want to use their own devices. It’s already been teased so much at this point.

I work out quite a bit and I must say, having this in my pocket while moving would be way safer than risking dinging the bracelet against weights/machines. Super cool.

This was very informative. I was a big fan of the vital bracelet when it came out. Then, this last June, I had a stroke and my doctor recommended getting a smartwatch to monitor my ECG. After that, I didn't really want to wear 2 watches. Thanks for bringing something like this to my attention 😊

Definitely something I have planned! I made a shell for the brick style vPet, but as it grew in popularity I had to take it down due to copyright concerns and I want to create something original with feedback from the community

I grabbed a Vital Watch DIY kit from Veak and love it, so I decided to pass on this mod in the Kickstarter... but now that I've seen how much QoL has been added with the Upgrade Memory I'm really wishing I got in on the Kickstarter when I could! If this comes back in stock I may mod my VB again and give it new life after I pick up a VBBE. So impressed to see it in action!

Fantastic vid as always. Glad to see you cover this product. I’ve been excited about these shells since I first saw one a few months ago! I definitely plan on getting one at some point. Winning one here would be sweet, but supporting the team with a purchase would suit me just fine as well. I want to use this mod to breathe new life into my OG Vital Bracelet and then get a BE to wear when they finally release. That way I have access to the best of both form factors depending on my mood or the day. Also, my favorite cereal is Frosted Mini-Wheats. 😋

I really wanted to get one when the kickstarter was live, but I hesitated as I only had the Digivice V...but I would love to have it be a normal vpet style. I definitely didnt like wearing it as a watch as its too bulky for my wrists. Hopefully I can get one of these in the future~ Current favorite cereal is Boo Berry

Great review, glad that this mod is getting more visibility. I still haven't made the jump to mod my bracelet, but as a brown guy, the heart rate sensor issues + headache of the workarounds make mods like this really appealing. Digimon community stays winning! I unfortunately lost all my 'mons after a phone transfer. I think the mod would be the only way I'd give the vital bracelet another chance after all that :(

Favorite cereal, gonna have to be honest, I've really been loving Honey Nut Cheerios lately. I used to devour Honey Bunches of Oats and the Raisin Bran with the Oatmeal clusters in it, but keeping it simple with Honey Nut Cheerios has been such a nice, less carb-heavy, nightly meal. 👍

The white and gold looks so good and makes me think of a divine/angelic device. I'd love to get a vital pet then I could use my vital bracelet and dims again without worrying about water getting on the device or not getting vitals to keep my digimon alive.

Honestly I wish there were a VB with care mechanics, either in this form factor or in a watch form factor. Being able to use DiM cards on an actual v-pet would be great. But this is pretty cool!

This is cool! but what i'd actually love to have is the functionality of the classic V-Pets in my wrist, plus with the awesome sprites of the vital bracelet (at least, most of them). You know, as a wearable V-Pet more than a sport-like digimon toy.

I think the only downside with this is it really emphasizes how small the vital bracelet's screen is compared to other v-pet devices lol. But it seems nice! I had no idea custom memory stuff like that was even possible. Wonder if the Color will be able to have it's digimon set changed or expanded on or whatev via USB...
