The problem from my perspective with the doc is that her videos are long.

@@daniak6699 As someone who is naturally thin and healthy and won't gain much weight unless I eat junk food and tons of sugar every single day, I find the controversial around Dr Dray's weight very unfair and hurtful. Everyone is built different. I do find her thinner than what I consider thin, but that's her business and her body, as long as she's not out there promoting that her body size is the ideal size, I'm fine with it
@Popicat527
@Popicat527 3 жыл бұрын
@@daniak6699 we don't know what she's dealing with in her private life. Her weight shouldn't make her controversial as long as she doesn't claim that everyone should be like her (which she doesn't). The thing I always wonder is wether it may actually be a bad thing to lower the amount of melanin in our skin. It seems that almost all commonly used actives, retinoic acid, ascorbic acid, niacinamide, licorice extract, sunscreen etc, they all in different ways reduce the amount of melanin. And I wonder wether that's a good thing, because melanin is also beneficial for skin, it may only provide an SPF3, but still it doesn't degrade or rub off like sunscreen, it protects the skin cells, has an antioxidant benefit. Very pale skin is more sensitive to uv radiation. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to find ingredients that actually stimulate melanin production?

Dang! I can’t believe there haven’t been clinical human trials yet. I have Aēsop’s “B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel” that boasts its antioxidant properties. Magnesium Ascorbyl Magnesium, Sorbitol, Panthenol, and Sodium Lactate are the featured ingredients. I honestly don’t see much of a difference personally after about a month of using it, and now I’m really side-eyeing it! Thanks Mother #ScienceBabe Kenna I think I’ll focus on dietary anti-oxidants instead of buying it again.

I have very sensitive skin and can't use chemical exfoliators or retinol. I also have to avoid things like dimethecone. Since I am careful with my skincare I think I'll just make sure I'm taking vitamin C! Love these informational videos.

I'm a little pale & use products with vitamin C to give my skin luminosity and glow. They work. All of them. The colour of my skin changes when I apply these products. The last one causes my skin to "burn" a bit.

I like to use Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, solely for its acne benefits. As well as personal experience, I've seen some studies attesting to this but like you said, there's not nearly as much research on the vit c derivatives. Hopefully, there'll be more in the future!
