So I bought a new light(technically 2) for the channel and its great! BUT I also did not think about how cool and bright it was when filming and in my opinion this video looks a bit overexposed. Sorry if you felt this way while watching.

She is cheeky, subtle and cute all at the same time. A real beauty and you can clearly tell it's Hokusai! I wish the paint popped just a little bit more, especially in the luxury line, but at the distance of display, she is outstanding, especially the water effects!

Been considering her as I love her character design and I have a Hokusai art book that I’d like to display beside her. I like your review about her and you’re right, just a few shading away and a little fix on her face and she’s nearly perfect. But anyway the figure itself is still a full package.

It just came in yesterday, and hoo-boy those birds are hard to get in; I was worried I would break off some of the other birds while handling her. I'm not entirely sure they are really secure, I might put a bit of tape on them just in case one of them falls out. I love this figure, the water swirl and the yellow parts of the kimono really stand out to me.

Great review! Thank you for elaborating the various details. I am still waiting on Taobao (kind of missed PO everywhere and it was my last reliable resort) to call for payment, which was abit strange considering most figures are released to China market before Japan if I am not too wrong. Cant wait for her arrival! Also still waiting Aegir PO to open up… apparently the DX version was exclusive to 500 pieces in China markets and they were sold out. I just hope they have some slots catered for international market.

Yeah I heard about the limited 500 pieces which is crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if they just don't want to put in the time and money to making a ton of those DX versions and made a very small batch

Her and Shuten are my absolute favorite Fate characters and this is one of my more anticipated figures that will hopefully ship someday. Thankfully I got free shipping and a big discount with TOM points so I'm allowing that to excuse the lack of shading for my money's worth 😅 would it kill these figure company's to give their characters blush???

I looove Shuten, she is my favorite without a doubt. Kinda want to get all her scales and might try to but I wish I picked up the max factory one when it was cheaper. Something to hunt for I guess lol

Wow, what a beautiful figure! I’m honestly surprised Phat Company made that. I think this is the first time that I’ve been so stunned by a figure that I didn’t even notice the support poles. This is one of those figures that you could sit in a living room and get away with it not looking out of place, imo.

Yeah lately phat had a handful of figures with bad quality control so it was nice to see Hokusai come out mostly on top this time. It really looks amazing in person, especially when you aren't looking for flaws lol

Yeah same. Passed on this cause its Phat and I have faith that the swimsuit one will be better as its GSC. This one didn't turn out too bad though, but I would definitely feel a bit disappointed if I bought it as I can't justify that price with such little shading. The hair lacks detail too, it looks kind of clumpy. If it was cheaper, I'd jump on it.

Great Review ! It helped me a lot to buy that wonderful figure. Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to attach Toto Sama to the Wave... I tried several Times. Always failed... How did you do ?

it's a little finicky, but I felt he kinda went in on an angle when I did to do it, and then I just had to carefully apply some force while supporting the back of the wave with my other hand. I will admit he fell and his brush came out of his hand once during this, but thankfully it didnt break and it's possible to put it back in his hand.

I’m getting Phat Company’s Semiramis from Fate, but I had to pay $399 for it from BBTS, I couldn’t find it anywhere else. But it’s such a nice figure and I loved her in the anime.

A hefty price for sure, but she looks pretty sick. You could potentially find a japanese store with stock when she releases and then just cancel the BBTS order. Not sure if that'll happen, but always good to keep your eyes peeled

Better than I expected of Phat. The wave especially, looks a lot nicer than whatever effects other companies are trying to tack on. The design is great.. but execution seems a step below alter and others, like you mentioned. This minimalistic mouth actually really bothers me, her face just looks really empty to me, I feel like they could've done better. The hands also seem quite chonky to me, and some shading is definitely lacking, especially around the hair. Given the price though, I decided she's not worth it. I have no attachment to the character, so speaking purely on design / execution. The new strawberry Miku is basically the same price at retailers, and I expect her to come out better in comparison.

Strawberry Miku is gonna be hard to beat quality wise and likely the better option in the long run. Also yeah she does kinda have slightly chubby fingers. I kinda just left that as an afterthought in my head but maybe I shoulda brought that up. It's a fair point against the figure for sure

This is not worthy to be called Luxury Line. Quality wise, it's not good but so much better compared to their other figures. She's my favorite servant in the game so I still bought her and she still looks amazing.

It's kinda funny cause technically, since she's a step up from Phat Company's typical quality, Hokusai is luxury, but yeah when you compare it to other companies its not really fitting
